Woo made a new character, waifu for my queen. Her name’s Dalili and she likes to play with people using her status, like make them lil uncomfortable but then goes like “Hahaha, of course I’m not serious, silly :) Bye now.” Meanwhile Luura’s just like taking the front and doing all the important business as the leader of her country like gdi someone has to get shit done.
Dalili is more of a social butterfly, wanting to host parties and other events 24/7 while Luura would rather stay inside with her wife all day.
Am I really a curse?
Mkuu was very old when it happened. A sick wildebeest asked the current leader of The Thornbush Pride about the Tree of Life, a sanctuary that was said to cure every disease, that a cape buffalo from another heard have came from it seasons ago, completly free of their illness. Mkuu didn't know and dismissed the herbivore away, without knowing he got infected from that same disease. Dalili, though, knew about the encounter, since she followed her uncle around for her training as a future leader. Worried about the only family that seemly deeply cared about her, Dalili relunctantly asked Nia if she knew about this "Tree of Life" so they could send Mkuu there. Nia replied that yes, she has heard the stories about this sanctuary from her father, but they were all just that: stories, and that Dalili should let the course of The Circle of Life to continue, that it was time Mkuu joined The Lions of The Past.
Dalili didn't believe that bullshit: the spirits wouldn't take another relative of hers. She was going to prove Nia wrong. So she went to Kulinda and asked about these "Moonflowers" that were on the painting of the cave Dalili found years ago. Kulinda was also old and didn't remember exactly, but she knew the plants could help, but there was a catch about them she couldn't recall. Dalili didn't care about that, as long as it cured her uncle.
Dalili found the plants and gave a couple to Mkuu. For a few days, he seemed to get better. So she asked to herself: "why dónt I give him more flowers so he gets better faster?". And so she did. And Mkuu felt stronger and more alive than ever!
Until a couple of hours later, when Dalili found her uncle, surrounded by the Moonflowers, lying dead in his cave. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Yeah, remember that i said Mkuu died of old age? It was partially true :D The disease Mkuu had was tuberculosis, and yes, that cape buffalo is the one that killed Rani's parents with its illness. I'm making a reference to the Kruger incident that killed a lot of lions.
"I'm not going to get close to that thing!"
"She is your daughter!"
"SHE IS A MONSTER!"
Mkuu was taken aback by his brother's reaction. And then anger started filling his chest. Mtemi wanted a new chance to proof himself to the pride, and this is how he reacted? "How dare you?", Mkuu growled. Straightening himself up to the full of his height, he repeated the question, this time with the fury and bitterness his brother deserved. "HOW DARE YOU REJECT THE OPPORTUNITY THE GREAT LIONS OF THE PAST ARE GIVING YOU?!"
"SHE IS NOT AN OPPORTUNITY, SHE IS A CURSE!!" Baring his teeth, Mtemi lowered his head. "She is part of my curse. Dalili is not a gift, but a punishment."
"And how are you so sure about—"
"BECAUSE DALIA IS DEAD!" Mtemi shaked his head, "Dalia was my opportunity, and that...monster killed her. I thought I was forgiven, but Dalili is a sign that the Great Lions of the Past hasn't. "
Turning his back towards his brother, Mtemi started walking towards his dusty cold den.
"And that I never will". -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- She shouldn't have come. She should have just listened to Darius and stay in the den.
MONSTER
She kept running, hoping the wind of the night would wipe her tears away.
A CURSE
Thornbushes. They always looked interesting to her. Now they felt like home.
Hidden inside the bushes, Dalili felt safe, the spikes protecting her from her father's cruel worlds and any of those old spirits that decided she was a curse. Who do they think they are, these Lions of the Past? Just because they were old and in the sky everyone should agree to their decisions? Dalili was alive and on the ground, she could feel the dirt in her paws. Those old lions couldn't do that. Those old lions couldn't be a leader anymore. But she could. Dalili would be the best leader any other pride have seen, so powerful that The Lions of The Past would want to talk to her. And the first thing she was going to do, is to make them beg. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wanted to show another one of the reasons why Dalili wants communication to The Lions of the Past. And why she remembered this part at the beginning of the comic.
TLK: Perfectly Valued Act 2 Page 19
Revenge isn't always as sweet, is it? This is the end of Act 2! Thank you everybody who has reached this page and enjoyed this 2 first acts so far. Act 3 is going to be...fun teehee And to clarify: the fruit hanging on the vine is a green ripe (the banana) and Azanza garckeana: both used in Africa to improve male fertility. The "phalic" disposition was on purpose. And you can see them in here . So now you know why Amun was in there.
