I can finally reveal Kion's and Dalili's cub!

The name (the one Dalili will give to him) is Kamili, which means "Perfect" in swahili

Why now? Well, he is trans! Though in Perfectly Valued will be referred with his deadname since he will only appear as a newborn cub. It's after the events of the comic that he will transition, so a good spoiler! The cub will survive! I'm not promising with all his limbs though

Boga wanted cubs and even though they could conceive, she is sex repulsed and Dhoruba is more than ok with that, so them both were looking into adopting. Good luck for them is that Dhoruba ends up finding little Pembe alone hiding in the snow after a bad storm hit the border. She wanted it to be a surprise for Boga, so the cub was staying with her father's pride for a while, but Pembe was already curious about their new mothers, so they ended up sneaking under Dhoruba's mane one day.

Pembe means "ivory". They are non-binary and use they/them. Their design is inspired by this scan

TLK: Pretend love

Two cubs.

They had two cubs. A family. A name to themselves and a pride to recover. Moons togethere talking and laughing. Tangled by fate, marked by the spirits, Maradhi and her were bethroted and found each other when her pride was dying and his home was a mess.

They were supposed to be happy.

And yet...

'I don't love you.'

Even remembering those words made Nubia's chest hurt. They let her breathless, because they didn't make sense.

"You are beautiful." He kept talking. Why did he keep talking? "I'm glad.. I'm glad that it was you who I got bethroted to, Nubia. I'm glad because I got to meet you, because we had the chance to have a family. But I can't hurt you anymore."

Then why was he doing it? Why not stay quiet? Why not—

"I don't want to pretend. I own you that. You deserve to own the truth of who your mat-, ugh, of what I am. Of the thing I am that you have been calling husband. Because I haven't been, not fully, not in the way that matters."

Nubia didn't reply. She didn't want to think. Because thinking made feelings resurface, feelings she wanted to burn down, feelings she, as a lioness, shouldn't been feeling.

But she was the Queen Consort.

"Is there", she muttered, but then raised her voice, "is there something I can do?"

Maradhi chuckled and shook his head. "Unless you can fix all of me."

Fix. Maybe not fix him, but she could fix the situation.

Yes, she could fix this. Nubia was his wife, after all.

She will fix this.
