23 de Janeiro de 1988, #CommunityWorldTheater, Tacoma, WA. A banda tocou com o nome #TedEdFred. #DaleCrover tocava bateria. Foi o único show com Dale na bateria. "Nos bastidores, ocorreu um incidente que marcaria a noite de uma forma que #KurtCobain não poderia ter previsto. Comparado a #KristNovoselic e Kurt, Crover era veterano, e ele e os #TheMelvins haviam tocado diversas vezes no #CWT. Ele perguntou a Kurt quando eles estavam ganhando pela apresentação, e quando Kurt lhe disse que estavam tocando sem receber, Crover protestou. May explicou que havia tentado pagar a banda por suas últimas apresentações — o clube estava finalmente faturando um pouco mais —, mas que Kurt continuou se recusando a receber dinheiro. Crover começou a gritar, até que Kurt finalmente anunciou: "Nós não estamos recebendo dinheiro nenhum". Crover argumentou que mesmo que o pagamento fosse de irrisórios vinte dólares, havia um principio em jogo; "Você nunca deveria ter feito isso, Kurt. Esses caras só estão te explorando. Você vai ser sempre explorado. Precisa receber o seu dinheiro". Mas Kurt e Krist percebiam a realidade da situação de May. May finalmente propôs um meio-termo que permitiria a Kurt manter sua integridade e deixar Crover feliz: ele convenceu a banda a aceitar dez dólares para a gasolina. Kurt enfiou a nota no bolso e disse: "Obrigado".
