Dalamus is nonbinary, using "he" and "they", liking them equally.

Dalamus is asexual, and does not feel sexual attraction towards others.

Not technically related to his sexuality, but relevant to sexual habits, he also has very low libido. While not repulsed, he has next to zero interest in sex.

Dalamus' eyes are red with a brighter red limbal ring, and his scleras are a greyish color. Many describe them as piercing or striking, even with his expression softened.

He and many of his tribe possess a tapetum lucidum in their eyes, which allows for improved vision in low light and at night, though not to the same extent as nocturnal animals. It also causes the pupils to glow with an eye shine at night when sufficient light is seen reflecting from them. The color of the shine varies between individuals, but Dalamus' eye shine is a yellow-orange color. The limbal rings themselves seem to glow slightly at night, too, and combined with the eye shine can be a truly ominous sight in the dark.

His limbal rings are genetic, passed down through his family and in his tribe. Their color depends on that of the parents, although occasionally an ancestor's color gene can slip through and create an unexpected outcome. In Dalamus' tribe, limbal rings can change in intensity depending on how an Au Ra is feeling--glowing in rage or when overjoyed, dimming with despair or illness, etc.

In the case that an Au Ra with genetic limbal rings wishes to hide or change their color (or an Au Ra without limbal rings wishes to have some), the Aesthetician Jandelaine offers such a service, using magic to apply a sort of "contact lens" with the desired color (or lack thereof, to match one's limbal ring to the rest of their eye) on top of the eyes. They take some getting used to, but many are happy with the results, and they're able to be changed again by Jandelaine at any time.

Dalamus’ Tail!

Dalamus’ tail is very long, reaching all the way to the ground and then some if the tail is entirely relaxed. He normally exerts some effort to keep it lifted off the ground, at the very least while walking.

He can move his tail in its entirety (minus the spines) at will and even wrap around objects, but does not have the strength to grip or hold on, nor the fine motor control to manipulate objects.

He sometimes emotes with his tail subconsciously. Anger might be shown with a slow and wave-like side to side motion. Annoyance or embarrassment might be seen with quick flicks of the tail tip. Sadness or tiredness might be seen with his tail dragging on the ground rather than lifted. Contentedness might be seen in a gentle swishing.

The spikes towards the base of his tail are shorter and stiffer than the others, but not sharp enough to cause bleeding injury. They are anchored in place and while they can withstand some bend, they are not very flexible. The six long spines near the tip of his tail are flat, flexible, and not sharp, able to be bent and wobble without hurting Dal. The spade which creates the very tip of his tail is not flexible, and it is sharp.
