Summary:
āArenāt they with you?ā
Glancing down to his side he was met with an annoyed looking middle-aged woman. His eyes swept over her for a moment, taking in her tapping foot and the hands on her hips before he looked back in the direction of the idiots she was no doubt referring to. Lifting his cup to his lips he hid his smile by tasking a long sip.
āNope.ā

Excerpt:
āDaichi-san, please walk on your own two feet.ā
Despite the torture of having to deal with his inebriated senpai hanging off of him, Tsukishima cracked a smile as Daichi snorted and descended into a mess of giggles.
āWhy should I use my own feet when you got those stilts over there? Should be plenty to support us both.ā
Tucked under Tsukishimaās arm, Daichi raised his head to gaze at him. His grin was wide and teasing, waiting for him to shoot back with one of his curt replies. For once, Tsukishima couldnāt find anything to say though, not when Daichiās dark eyes were shining up at him and his cheeks were bright from the alcohol. He wanted to pinch them, but he knew that would be a step too far. He was just his senpai, thatās it.
āAre we close to your apartment, Daichi-san? I donāt want to leave you on a park bench, butā¦ā
Daichi gasped but his smile never left his face. āYouād leave me on a bench?! I thought you cared about me more than that.ā
āWell, itās late and Iām tired and if I canāt find your apartment, there really isnāt anything left for me to do.ā
Daichi stopped suddenly, gripping the front of Tsukishimaās jacket to hold him back. Even as he pulled Tsukishima to face him, he still didnāt let go. A streetlamp nearby softly illuminated his face, highlighting the strange seriousness of his expression. Tsukishima was thankful he was so much taller than him, otherwise, the proximity of their faces to each other would have made his heart stop completely.
Daichi didnāt say anything as he studied him carefully. For a moment, Tsukishima wondered if he was even drunk with how focused he was but then it passed and Daichiās lips were slipping into a smirk.
āItās right there,ā he said, nodding his head to the very next apartment building. āWill you help me up?ā
Tsukishima cocked his eyebrow at him and Daichiās smile widened, resembling something innocent but he knew better. But of all the senpais heād ever had, he could never refuse Daichi anything. Especially if it meant spending a few more minutes in his company.
Sighing, he wrapped his arm tighter around Daichiās waist and gave him a nudge toward his apartment, hoping that his face wasnāt as red as it felt. He refused to meet Daichiās gaze, but he could feel his deep chuckles reverberate against his side. The light scent of his cologne was still apparent and filled Tsukishimaās senses, even with the mask of stale beer over top of it.
Unfortunately, the apartment building didnāt have an elevator, so the pair stumbled up the stairs to the next floor up. Tsukishima bit his lip, trying to hold back his laughter as Daichi giggled the whole way up. The more he struggled, the tighter he held onto Tsukishima and pressed their bodies together.
Just a bit further and then Iāll leave. Iāll make sure heās safe and then I can escapeā¦

Daichi x Tsukishima Rating: General WC: 2462
Tsukishima didnāt need to glance at his phone for the directions, he had memorized them easily before he had even left Miyagi. Though heād never spent much time wandering different sections of Tokyo, he allowed his instincts and memory to work in tandem as he focused on other things. Things such as glancing in the shop windows to check his reflection and taking deep breaths to calm his nerves.
This was nothing, just visiting an old senpai who was already living here to get some good advice. He had already put in extensive research on apartments surrounding his university, so he already had a good understanding of where heād like to live. Unfortunately, Sugawara had paid a visit to his kohai and dragged them to a coffee shop after classes to hear their plans. He was the one with the idea of him meeting up with the one person Tsukishima knew he shouldnāt. Itās been years and heās moved forward from his ridiculous crush on his old captain. What was he afraid of?
He lifted his chin and continued down the sidewalk, enjoying the vast height difference between him and the pedestrians giving him a wide berth. He paused when he caught sight of the right apartment building, the familiar numbers causing his pulse to race and a sickening feeling to grip into his stomach. Perhaps he was more nervous than he thought, but no one needed to know. Especially not Yamaguchi with the odd look he gave them when he decided to go through with it. What did he know?
Tsukishima subtly checked his breath against his palm as he entered the building. There was nothing wrong with that, why would he greet a senpai with bad breath? It seemed fine but he fished a breath mint out for good measure and popped it into his mouth. He had crunched it into oblivion by the time he reached the second flight of stairs and wished his sweaty palms would feel as cool as his mouth suddenly did.
No big deal⦠no big deal⦠no big deal...
His mantra repeated in his head at the speed of his heartbeat, which was fluttering so erratically he was worried he was having an arrhythmia. He was Tsukishima Kei, he didnāt get flustered over anything. People cowered from his stern gaze and sharp words, a reaction that was incredibly satisfying to himself. This was different, though. He was different.

Something cute, like crushes and confessions, she said. Tsukishima shrugged it off ā cute, crushes and confessions were not things he did. He preferred other c-letter words, like cool, calm and collected, and they didnāt go well with the first three. āReally? Never? Not even a crush?ā Yachi pressed on, cheeks rosy from tipsiness.
