Autumnâs Tithe
Overall:
- Â Â This was not the most amazing book Iâve ever read. Â I will say that it definitely was fast passed. Â Which is very different for a first book in a fantasy series. Â Usually fantasy books when they are the first in a series they take their time developing the world and characters. Â I did like the twist ending of Dahey working against Finder. Â I really did not see that coming. Â I know they were like at odds with one another the whole time but I thought that was just cousins being cousins. Â I also liked the fact that the original bad guy, the Starveling, turned out to not be the real enemy. Â It seems a bit cliche but this book definitely needed a bit of cliche. Â

Jay had been in a bit of a funk lately and he wasnât sure how to shake himself from it. Life had become more complicated than it had ever been and he still felt like a stranger in the town he grew up in. It was a strange uneasiness that left to him trying to be more social; to not lose any positive connections in his life so that he didnât alienate people further, even if it was casual acquaintances, Jay knew he had to at least try. He had seen Dahey that morning and it had led to the architect to try and catch up with him the best he could. âAnything else new?â Jay asked with a half smile. â I might end up rambling if I start talking, so honestly tell me how thingâs are?â

While it was taking a while for Jay to get accustomed to things in town again, it was simultaneously harder and easier, due to the way thingâs in his personal life had seemed to involved others around him, though there were some momentary reprieves and he liked being able to clear his head when he wasnât on the clock. It was why he tried to go out and talk to other and just be a social creature again. He had been really social once but the last few years had taken a lot out of him and he was ready to try again with making friends and reconnecting with people. He let out a sigh and looked over to Dahey next to him before looking back at over the bar at the Village Tavern. â What are you having? Itâs on me. I swear Iâll be better company after I have another drink in me. â

location: tower hotel
Ella loved her job at Tower Hotel, she enjoyed being the manager and she thought she was a good one as well. She had spent a lot of time working there and getting used to what it was like and what kind of guests they would have most of the time. There was this one guest that had become a regular there and she had seen him a lot recently and he seemed frustrated and at first she thought it might have been something her staff had done. He was sitting in the lobby basically moping around because his place wasnât sorted out and she understood that was frustrating but the thing about life is that it doesnât always go to plan and people need to accept that. She decided to go over, only to try and help the guy out but she knew there might be a possibility he does not care to listen. Walking over, she stood there near him, âHi, Look, I know youâre waiting for your place to be done and that is fine but really you need to stop moaning about the fact that they have to work on it for your health and safety. Be grateful you have a place to stay.â Â
