33. What kind of presents do they get each other?
Alphinaud spends fortunes on anything from flowers, to jewelry shaped like flowers, to clothing with flower patterns AND jewels sewn into the fabric. When he spends for Illya, he acts like his coffer is endless and it drives Illya nuts. Illya has to be very careful about what she says she wants if they go shopping together because if she even mentions in a passing comment about how ‘that earring looks nice’ he’s going to buy it right away. He spends big on normal days, and even BIGGER on special occasions.
Illya prefers handmaking presents for Alphinaud. Cooking lunch boxes and takeaways for him, baking him pastries and cookies, crafting cards and little charms for him. She also sews clothes for him - he has a whole collection of sweaters that Illya sews for him without fail every year approaching starlight. Illya reserves more expensive gifts for special occasions.
34. Do they have any pets?
Most of the ‘pets’ they have are more companions that are in Illya’s care. She has one white chocobo, one black chocobo and an amaro to care for. After nursing a little brown sparrow back to health, it took a liking to her and starting following her around. She has fostered a few other animals she found in the past too, but quickly gave them over to adopters who had more time and energy to be able to care for them in full.
Alphinaud’s luck with animals isn’t that great, but he has a blue bird that he adopted to pay Illya’s sparrow company while they aren’t around.
