This was no less true in the wake of Ala Mhigo’s liberation. Yorick wasn’t particularly fond of his adventuring taking him through “someone else’s war.” A statement that was a little perplexing as he professed to having family in the Twelveswood and the Garleans were very much on the wood’s doorstep. But then none of them could say they knew where he was actually fun and if asked, Yorick wasn’t moved to give more than a roll of the eyes. Whatever his reasons and origins, the prolongued campaign left Faust even more empty than usual.

So it was with no small amount of interest that moved Montresor to quietly stop their cohorts mid tracks and aim them toward their companion. A storm had been brewing in the distance and it had been more or less agreed that they should avoid it for the time being. Except where the elezen’s hand gestured, stood Yorick transfixed by the beast that was unperturbed by the storm’s lightning bolts drawn to it’s flank.

“The rumored steed of Rhalgar I’ve heard about,” Montresor offered Yorick what information he’d heard about the thing.

As if a toy whose key was released, Yorick began postulating wildly to matchhis rapid verbalization. “Yes, yes! I’ve heard the whole rigamorale too. Something, something, Rhalgar’s mount whom learned to command the storms just as well bladidah. OR!! In my mother’s books there was talk of a steed to whom was imbued with the power of levin not by a good but mages.”

Montresor exchanged a suspicious look with the pink haired miqo’te and lalafellin girl that composed their ranks. There was a consistent thread in things that made Yorick this animated and his eyes were downright glittering at the moment. “Voidsent?”

“No!” Yorick raised a finger then relented into more gesticulation of a second guessing kind. “Or, I don’t think so. You have to remember Mhach wasn’t just the progenitors of voidmaths but Black magic and there’s more than one way to shock a beastkin.”

Montresor raised an eyebrow, wondering when anyone had ever mentioned Mhach but that did explain Yorick’s near elation. It was always Mhach or voidsent. Or Mhach and voidsent. Not a one could have guessed at the rather amusing past Yorick had in concerns to horses that was also coloring this particular speech. Not with the way he roiled against the Nightmare that had taken to following him some time before.

The Miqo’te was mid ranting about something about unicorns and how aether of a levin propensity had shaped its horn when Saanvi offered a “We could try and catch it for you if you wanted?”

That stopped Yorick’s rambling and his strange hand talking as he stared at them, back bent and twisted towards them so he could hit them with a face that looked fully scandalized for reasons they could not muster. Then he sprung back into motion, beginning to pace and mumbling to himself. “No, no, no. You don’t understand the kind of work that goes into maintenance for a creature like that. It’s one thing in the wild, obviously this one knows what it’s doing if it’s survived this long. Or is it that they made a whole breed of them and they simply come out like that? Would that mean that there’s more than- you understand the fluffy… wuffy-ness around its hooves. You have to keep on top of that because if grows too long it’ll get caught in the hooves and cause all sorts of health problems. Not to mention the maintenance of the rest of its fur and trying to bathe a creature that can readily shock you at a given moment’s notice.”

His pacing grew more frantic and shorter as he continued on, his awareness beginning to dwindle as he roiled himself deeper into this hypothetical. “Trying to board the damn thing is another issue. It’s one thing with the gods damn Nightmare because it’s of a comparable size to a normal steed but that’s a monster of a creature and who in their right mind would let it in their barn not to mention the astronomical amount of food the thing must consume on an average. Oh the migration are of it. Where has it been hiding all this time?”

His pacing had more or less stopped though he was crouched peculiarly, stomping about in place like a crab. Complete with the waving of his would-be claws. “Oh but I’d give anything to see it up close for even a moment.”

“Right, well,” Montresor cut off any more rambling while he flipped through the pages of his grimoire that Yorick only now noticed was in his hands. Which matched Saanvi’s own tome and Illya’s staff held at the ready, both looking a little saucer eyed. “You will absolutely get that chance as your ambulation has it baring down on us as we speak, I’m afraid.”
