(In relation to this) That's got me wondering now, how does Skut talk in the French version? Does he have an accent or does he just speak broken French? (I read Tintin never got an Estonian translation, or they gave up at some point so we'll never know how they handled it there *womp* but I guess it would be handled similarly to Alcazar in the Spanish version)
Unfortunately, he just speaks broken French, no accent :') There does seem to be an improvement in his French from Red Sea Sharks to Flight 714, though! In the former, he almost doesn't conjugate any verbs and keeps his sentences very simple, but by the time Flight 714 takes place, he's speaking a bit more fluently (albeit still omitting articles and prepositions).
I'm surprised the comics weren't translated to Estonian! But I agree, they probably wouldn't be able to convey it very well... I mean, how can you convey an Estonian accent in Estonian, really? 😅

Had a dream last night you sent me something in the mail and live-blogged its journey. I want to say it was a ham and cheese sandwich. This was very kind of you to do seeing as also in that dream I had a pet butterfly named Grace that was killed and my dad died (it’s okay he got better. The butterfly didn’t though.)

mwahahahaha... so Alice in Transylvania's premise revolves around adapting things that i like to see adapted, this is mostly public domain stuff but also..... Wonka is here.... (which i do have a plan for him if for some reason i did need to monetize this project, just kind of pivot him to being the muffin man? which is why right now hes a baker and doesnt have his factory- its a prequel to his book and also. yeah this is also why he lives on Drury Lane. im getting off topic i might babble about him in a different post)
ALL THAT TO SAY... this Dorothy is based on the book version, theyre all adapted pretty directly from their book versions with minor changes made- this is supposed to read as a mega sequel for each respective book (excluding Wonka for whom it is a prequel) and as much as i have tried to keep book accurate im gonna be changing the part in the book where Dorothy gets enslaved. just. yeah. i forgot how much casual slavery is in that book its actually kind of insane. anyway all that to say because it isnt based on the Judy Garland movie, Oz is not a dream, and the boys dont resemble her uncles. though i did love that movie as a bebe LMAO
