Ā Ā Oliver scuffed his shoe against the pavement as they stood in front of Angeloās home. Their first date was coming to a close and Oliverās heart was suddenly thumping in his throat. All evening the thought kept washing over him how stunning Angelo looked. The confidence and elegance they seemed to exude captivated him. The conversation between them was effortless over dinner, and every word, every laugh, every coy smile melted his heart.
Ā Ā "We should do this again soon.ā Angelo broke the silence of the chilled night air, hugging their coat tighter. Their smile was gentle and content, and Oliver could only look on, enchanted. Ā Ā Before he knew what he was doing, his bodyās instincts had him taking a step closer and leaning close to brush his lips against Angeloās. There was a small, surprised intake of breath from his date that jolted Oliver back into his right mind. Ā Ā He jerked away, feeling his face flare with a shameful blush. āI-Iām sorry. I shouldnāt have kissed you,ā Oliver stammered, tugging nervously on his scarf and avoiding Angeloās face. There was a long pause, and every second that ticked by made him want to crawl under a rock and hide forever. Ā Ā "I donāt understand why youāre apologizing.ā Angeloās voice drifted into his ears, soft and tinged with amusement. Oliver cautiously flicked his eyes up, and the moment they met with Angeloās, he saw his date smiling shyly and biting their lip. They closed the space with a couple of steps, and Oliver found himself mere inches from their face. They rested their hands on Oliverās chest and spoke just above a whisper, āKiss me again.ā Ā Ā He didnāt take more that a couple of seconds to process the words before his hand caressed Angeloās cheek, sliding down to their jaw and pulling them forward those scant few inches. His lips pressed firmly against theirs with renewed confidence. The kiss was quickly returned, Angelo leaning into it and curling their fingers into his coat. Their lips slid against each otherās, keeping the kiss quite chaste - which was fine. Better than fine. It was more than heād ever hoped for. Ā Ā They parted slowly, savoring the moment for everything it was worth. Clouds of steam rose from their mouths in the frigid air. Oliver was the first to open his eyes, and Angeloās remained closed for a few more seconds before fluttering open. Ā Ā "Tonight was perfect. Thank you, Ollie.ā They whispered, resting their forehead against his and fiddling with his scarf. Oliver grinned at the endearing nickname and chanced one more feather-light kiss. Ā Ā "My pleasure. And⦠yes, we should definitely do this again.ā A laugh tinged his voice that made them both smile. Ā Ā "The kissing or the date?ā Angelo teased. Ā Ā Oliver thought for half a second before replying, "Both? If Iām lucky.ā Ā Ā "Just call me Lady Luck.ā Ā Ā "That was cheesy.ā Ā Ā "You like it.ā Ā Ā "I do.ā With one last kiss, Oliver nudged his date, āGo in and get warm. Iāll text you when I get home.ā Ā Ā "Good night, and drive safe.ā Ā Ā "I will. Good night, Angel.ā
