Perfect for fans of cozy LGBTQ+ romance like Heartstopper and Bloom, this slice-of-life rom-com by debut creator Moosopp is the sunshiny story of Marcus and Cog falling for each other.

They’re crushing, there’s chemistry, and they’re totally clueless.

Marcus has a crush, and Cog is completely unprepared for the hijinks that follow. Hopefully in their efforts to grow closer, they can brighten each other’s day.

It’s senior year and Marcus and Cog, two students from different friend groups, just started hanging out. Between Marcus making lunch for Cog, Cog walking Marcus home, and accidental paper-eating incidents, they start to see one another in a new light.

Marcus is a wholesome sweetheart and Cog is easily overwhelmed, so who knows how long it will take for either of them to confess their crush. But as long as Marcus and Cog get to spend time together, they don’t mind taking their time.

This is absolutely adorable! The character designs are super cute and diverse, and the art style is bright, soft, and fun to look at. Marcus and Cog have great chemistry and it was a joy to watch them become friends and gradually start expressing their feelings for each other. The supporting characters are also delightful. My favorite thing is how absolutely besotted Marcus is, and how Cog is pretty oblivious at the start. Their conversations and interactions made me smile and laugh. Overall, a sweet and lighthearted comic that I'm eager to read more of!

it’s just as fluffy as heartstopper and every update has me smiling like a big dumb idiot.

here are some things i’d like to praise it for:

1. cog, one of the main characters and his best friend toma are both theater kids and also really like karaoke. i know it’s kind of a small detail but yea.

2. the artwork is amazing!!!! the hair and facial expressions especially plus there’s so many little details like flowers and some panels use pretty background colors to further capture the emotion the character is feeling

3. it’s really wholesome

4. the poc representation is so good. heartstopper is amazing but it mostly centers around two white protags. i have nothing against heartstopper and the representation in that show is great but i like how we’re getting some queer protagonists of color.

all in all, if you’re a fan of heartstopper, you will definitely enjoy daybreak on webtoon. its so underrated and i wish more people would talk about.
