You should make these Slow Cooker French Dip Sandwiches for Dad on Father's Day. Warm hoagie rolls filled with tender beef, savory onions, and melted provolone cheese. Served with a flavorful au jus for dipping. This is a hearty meal that Dad will really enjoy.
Ingredients: 3 lbs beef chuck roast. 1 onion, sliced. 4 cloves garlic, minced. 1 cup beef broth. 1/2 cup soy sauce. 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce. 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard. 1 teaspoon dried thyme. 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary. Salt and pepper to taste. 6 hoagie rolls. 12 slices provolone cheese.
Instructions: In a slow cooker, put the beef chuck roast, onion, and garlic. Add Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, dried thyme and rosemary, salt, and pepper to a bowl and mix them together using a whisk. Add the mix to the slow cooker with the beef. For 8 hours, or until the beef is soft, cover and cook on low heat. Take the beef out of the slow cooker and use two forks to shred it. Take the liquid out of the slow cooker and set it aside to use as a dip. Warm up the broiler in your oven. Put the halves of the hoagie rolls on a baking sheet. Shred beef and provolone cheese should be put on top of each roll. It will take about two to three minutes of broiling in the oven for the cheese to melt and bubble. Serve the sandwiches with the cooking liquid that you saved to dip them in.
