What a hot and cold episode.

Dungeons and Drag Queens S2 Ep3: Ice Ice Fae-by

For an episode with a fight against monsters, an eating contest, a race through acidic wastelands, and a love story… it felt pretty chill. And not just because of where the latter third of the episode was taking place.

In this episode, Jujubee is proving me wrong with how much she has learned and retained from playing the game before. She helped Monet set right a wrong from the last campaign, remembered useful feats and skills, and got to help Brennan push the story along.

I feel like this episode was set up to be more Troyann-centric, with the party traveling with her father through the Venomlands. But Roy (Troyann's dad) kinda took a step back during the adventure as Twyla shone in the spotlight. Also, I don't know if I'm reading too much into it, but while Monet is ready with the actions and the descriptions, I also feel like she's still marinating as to where she wants Troyann's story to go.

Bob was amazing…with the quips. And when Gertrude got a chance to show her stuff later on. Because Gertrude in the monster fight? Scorched, honey. Scorched.

And Alaska continues to be the Zac Oyama of this party. Very laid back until they make a lets-ball decision that is also somehow very in-character. Princess may have taken a step back from the spotlight this week, but Alaska does not forget that their character is still the belle of the ball.

Let's see which side of the table the dice will favor next week. Although, based on the teaser, it is looking like Brennan's the one with the lucky streak. Can't wait!
