Saying yes to Aang was the best thing that has ever happened to you. Your kids get to have an amazing father and trainer, often training in the yard of your house as you watch ,preparing for the next day. You had a hot husband who treated you perfectly on and off the bedroom. You weren’t ashamed of it, I mean who would be ashamed  

But being married to the avatar meant it had its downs too.There were times you wished you didn’t marry him. Aang and the gaang often had to go on missions that lasted weeks, sometimes months, miles and miles away from you and the kids. He had missed your second daughter's first word. One time you were stuck taking care of a clingy baby and a sick toddler without him. There were times where you felt like he couldn’t come back and would cry while your daughters slept holding their hands. It was tough

Your daughters who you and Aang adored were becoming airbenders, thanks to Aang’s help. The oldest, a 6 year old daughter, [1] who was the exact copy of you and your face, and your youngest, a 4 year old daughter, [2] who stole Aang’s facial expressions and behaviors. You were a big happy family, when Aang was around of course

You were teaching your older daughter [1] how to sew a on a simple square fabric when you heard a noise from Appa which meant Aang had finally gotten back from his 2 months mission, dropping his bag on the ground moving his shoulder when your daughters looked back at him

“Papa!” You daughters screamed, running to him and causing him to groan as he returned 

“Yeah yeah I miss you two” Aang chuckles ruffling their heads before looking at you

“I’m back” he whispered to you with his signature smile, the same smile that you fell in love with.

“Welcome back” You said walking to him pecking his lips, pulling away before he turned the pecked into a kiss. He groaned before carrying [2] “I’m straving…what did you make?”

“Guess”

“Do I have to?” Aang said 

“Yes you have to, it’s your punishment for leaving me and the kids for two whole months” You said with a playful eye roll

Aang sighed, looking at you with puppy eyes “I know…and I’m sorry…but don’t do this to me please” Aang said, using his other hand and  grabbing your wrist and placing your palm on his cheek, rubbing his face, 

“Tease” You whispered looking away

“Only for you” He whispers back kissing your knuckles and kissing your palm 

“Alright…let’s go pack up so your dad can rest” You said pulling your hand away causing Aang to whine 

“But mama!” [1] whined 

“[1], listen to your mama” Aang said  as he carried [2] who was resting her head on his chest, her finger in her mouth

“No, I want to stay with papa before he leaves again!” [1] folded her arms, sulking as you sighed 

“Baby, we’ll be done in 2 minutes and then you can stay with papa okay?” You said 

“Okay…” [1] sighed before picking up fabrics from the floor and placing them in the sewing bags as you walked into the kitchen, cutting vegetables

“All done!” [1] screamed running to Aang and pulling [2] leg, trying to get her off 

Aang ruffled [1] before removing her hands from [2]’s leg “Leave her alone baby, she’s tired”

“But I want you!” [1] whined “You love [2] more than me” She says

“Who said that?” Aang said kneeling down [1], careful of the sleep [2] on his chest

“You carry her but not me!...and…you give her hugs before me! And I’m upset” [1] as Aang chuckled carrying [1] on his other side with a grunt 

“There we go, happy?” Aang asked [1] as you walked towards them wiping your hands on a blanket 

[1] nods giggling, 

“You’re gonna kill your back, you know that” You said staring at Aang

“I’m the avatar, two kids under 7 shouldn’t kill me”

“Being the avatar and a parent of two kids under 7 makes it worse, you know they are not 3 anymore right”

“Yeah…but it reminds me of when they were young…so I can carry them till they whine” Aang smiles pecking their forehead “It’s almost time for their afternoon nap so me carrying them could make it easier for them to fall asleep, especially the little one” Aang said moving his face to peck [2] forehead who was fighting sleep. 

You don’t know what got into you but seeing Aang on his fatherly side, carrying your daughters and showing his biceps made you feel horny.

As he walked away from you, you stared at him, your eyes never leaving his figure even though his back was turned on you. 

It wasn’t like you hadn’t seen him without his clothes, I mean how else did you two have two kids. But a 2 month mission, with him showing how to take care of your daughters plus your upcoming ovulation equaled Aang trying his best to ignore your look and taking care of the kids.

But he had a limit too, and his limit was snapping bit by bit whenever you stared at, with your love eyes.

It happened during a late night, you had put [2] for her afternoon nap 3 hours ago and gave [1]  a bath while your oldest ramble on about what Aang had taught her for the day, covering her mouth whenever you poured water over her. You were still in your sleepwear, which had showed your curves and the outline for your ass to Aang, you may have worn to tease Aang, but that got you no where

“Mama…papa said you’re an earth bender! How does that work?” [1] asked

“I bend the earth baby, just like how you and papa bend air I bend the earth” You replied smiling 

“So do you bend like dirt?”

“Mhm…I can bend rocks too, soil, anything that is part of the earth”

“What did you use it for when you were young…papa said you used it alot”

“To beat the bad guys baby, and that would be you later in life” You said booping her nose, which makes her giggle

“Why did you stop?” [1] asked

You smiled softly “I stopped for you and your sister, you two needed me so I gave the bad guy fighting to papa…because he’s very strong”

“Papa is the avatar…so he knows how to earthbend too?”

“Yes baby, he can also bend water and fire” You replied

“So cool…I wanna be like papa”

“You’re already like papa, you’re an airbender”

“But I want to bend other things too!”

“In due time, come on let’s get you dressed” You said helping her from the wooden tub and grabbing her towel and rubbing hair with it

It was a few minutes of you dressing [1],kissing her cheeks until she groaned saying ‘Mama I’m a big kid now!’ and you giggled when you hear a groan from the door and turned around to see Aang resting his body on the door handle staring at you with a smile

“How long have you been watching”

“In due time?” He asks, ignoring your question

“She might be the next avatar you know…bending every element that exists” You replied “And if she’s not, you’ll teach her how to fight other element bender to the pulp, who knows”

“Mhm” Aang said looking over your body which makes you side eye 

“Is there any problem?”

“No” Aang whispers “[1] I think [2] is awake,can you stay with her while mama and papa talk?” He lied, and you knew he lied

[1] unknown to the sexual tension nodded, grabbing her towel and running out of the room leaving you and Aang in the bathroom

“Aang you sent our daughter to check on her sleeping sibling…why?” You teased

Aang stands up and walks to you,grabbing your waist resting his head on your shoulder

“I missed your pregnant body” Aang said

“You what- Aang why on earth do you miss my pregnant body?”

“Because you look so hot, your breasts grew, your hips were much wider…you depended on me so much…I want to get you pregnant so bad, we should have another kid” Aang said removing his head from your shoulder and stared into your eyes

“Another kid- Aang you’re joking” You said placing your hands on his mouth when he tried to kiss you “[1] is awake”

“But” Aang whined giving you puppy eyes, before licking your hands making you shiver

“Where is the calm and collected avatar that I married” You giggle

“Taken over an Aang that needs his wife immediately” he groaned, you feeling his hands snake its way to your ass, giving it a gentle squeeze

“Aang, you’re not well, see high temperature-” You said trying to shake Aang off you but being shaking off a 6’4 buff man wasn’t easy, and a horny man at that. 

You whimpered as Aang grabbed your ass, pecking your neck “Please baby…just one more and that would be it”

“You said that last time!”

“This time I promise”

Aang didn’t wait for you to reply, he carried you over his shoulder giving your ass a big slap as you struggled to get off him, kicking your legs against his chest

“Aang drop me!”

“Until you give me another kid” Aang replied, giving you another slap which causes you to stay silent.

Yeah you were definitely going to give him another kid, maybe 2 more.

Okay so this is something that bothers me a lot, for a few different reasons.

One: I very much enjoy the ART of story telling

Two: This show was my absolute favorite as a child and still is a favorite of mine now. It helped me through a rough time in my childhood.

I’ll try to keep my thoughts organized.

A lot of people say the older Aang (OA for short) is written perfectly. That it makes sense that he isn’t a perfect dad, that he’s just matured with age, etc.

People can grow up, but still never really “grow up”. It happens all of the time. It’s not even that someone is immature; they’re just a child at heart. Even if this wasn’t something that I deeply believe would apply to OA, maturing still isn’t synonymous with pretentious. Suddenly Aang has different values.

It’s not just that he’s older.

We see him age from 12 in the show to 16 in the comics. With age, he becomes more responsible and better at handling conflict but his personality still never changes. We’re supposed to believe that this upbeat, level-headed, easy going child who spends his adolescence dealing with the genocide of his people AND the fate of the world turn into a super serious guy who only focuses on his on his job or forcing his culture onto his family? Speaking of which, it’s heavily inferred that OA played favorites with his kids and that he put too much pressure on Tenzin. What sense does that make? Aang’s ENTIRE arc was about doing things HIS way. He resented the monks for the pressure they put on him, so he did it his way. General Fong nearly killed Katara because he wanted to force Aang into the avatar state, but Aang took his time and did it his way. Aang was told by literally everyone he trusted to kill the fire-lord, even though that went against what he believed in. Even Yangchen, the previous air-bending avatar told him to kill Ozai, but he solved things HIS WAY. That’s the whole point: Aang ignores the expectations that people put on him to do things the way other avatars have done, but he does it... His. Own. Way. It’s no different in the comics. With all this happening in his formative years, you really think he’s going to turn and put that onto his own children?

“Oh, but Aang doesn’t know how to be a dad, he didn’t have a father figure!” I here you saying.

Yes, he did have a father figure. Gyatso. Gyatso was not only his father figure, but he was the only one who recognized the pressure being put on Aang and defended him.

Let’s get something clear: I wouldn’t expect Aang to be a “perfect” dad. In fact, I think him being unconventional and not conforming to what people expect would be his flaw as a parent, not being harsh and biased. If that were the case, it’s still understandable that he would probably drift towards Tenzin because passing down his culture IS important. It also makes sense that even if Aang was a “perfect” father, that Tenzin would be worried that he isn’t living up to what his dad wanted from him.

There’s also the chance that Aang wasn’t as bad as people believe him to be as a parent. We only hear it from his kids’ perspectives, it’s only natural that they would have feelings of resentment. But we never once hear them say that they knew he was trying his best. The closest we get is when the three of his kids are looking at an old photo and talking about how happy they were back then. That only makes it sound worse when you think about it.

That makes it sound like, “Things were better when Tenzin was an infant and we were young and innocent so we didn’t have to deal with the pressure of not contributing to our dad’s dying culture.”

Again, to give OA some credit, there are some scenes where OA seems perfectly in character. For example, during flashbacks, he seems to have the same demeanor towards villains when he’s older. It just sounds more menacing because he’s an adult. I even think his VA is spot on. Also when we see the picture of him doing the ‘marble trick’ with sushi: it’s just him having some light hearted fun.

All in all, I’m not saying that Aang needs to be some idealistic father who does nothing wrong or some immature man-child. My point is that, even for an adult, what we hear about him seems very out of character.

Side note: a lot of people believe that Bryke (Brian and Mike) purposely tried to make some aspects of the original series seem unappealing so that people would enjoy Korra more. Not saying that as an argument, just thought it was interesting.
