as impossible as it sounds in this reality, his career survived and his relationship too kinda 

he didn’t quite feel ready to have a mini me yet but he only made progress the more his baby grew up 

he always bought him clothes, his camera roll is literally filled with pictures of mio and everytime he’s away he looks through the photographs like it’s the pic he hid in his helmet for war

theo has at least 10 photos in his phone of jongseob and mio napping together 

sometimes it feels like he’s more of a big brother, and people often think he is, maybe that’s just the aura he gives off, but he always corrects them on his status 

he has a hard time with authority, he often has to be more confident when it doesn’t come naturally, even mio if is a pretty ‘easy’ kid, nothing about being a parent is easy

he can always count on the members to help, and once in a while when he’s too exhausted, he will ask one of them to take care of mio for a few hours 

he would literally sit hours at his desk on his pc with mio on his lap either asking questions when he’s older or napping when he was a baby

jongseob would literally stay awake hours next to his newborn son to make sure he was breathing, when he had realized the amount of stress he would be under the day mio was born, when he understood that he truly had to take responsibility and protect him, it had been overwhelming, he realized he’d spend the rest of his life worrying about his boy (and he did)

he thought that with his career he’d mastered managing anxiety as a child, but nothing compared to the tiny life depending on him 

even as mio grew older, you could see on every p1harmony time off vlog jongseob in the background always looking somewhere else because he’s always watching his child

spending time with mio is his favorite thing, sometimes he does spend a few minutes showering him with kisses to make him giggle and telling him he loves him — of course but he really felt the most at peace when he took his son to the park, to get ice cream, to walk shota’s dogs, or just when he was older to watch movies, or eat in the car listening to music

mio resembled him a lot, so they understood each other and had a bond different from most dads and sons 

jongseob wanted his child to have a real childhood but never let go of his creativity and differences, people easily grew fond of mio, liked having conversations with him

his dad stayed his hero all his life, he knew he wasn’t perfect but that balancing being an idol and a young dad was anything but easy 

and jongseob would be lying if he said he’d never cried from pressure, or exhaustion trying to not put the group’s career at risk but also being ready to sacrifice anything for his baby

when mio grew up to be a teenager, he learned to view his dad as a human being too as dumb as it sounds, he wasn’t just his dad, he was a whole person 

he got to see more of him, when jongseob would speak more openly about his struggles because mio was older now

jongseob got to finally admit out loud how hard it was when he was young and taking care of mio, even if you had already spoken to mio about it 

you always wanted your son to be easy on his father, even if it might’ve sounded unfair, because he didn’t ask to be born, you didn’t want him to regret anything as an adult 

and they kept a close bond, jongseob always gave him the quiet attention he needed, made sure he felt safe and loved especially when he was a teenager and started asking himself questions

even if it was great to have a young and cool dad, beyond being his best friend he did stay his dad first 

if he noticed his kid was having a hard time, he always reached out, never forced him to speak even if he also struggled with accepting his son could suffer, he knew life was hard 

be sure jongseob was always on his phone texting mio whenever they had a break from practice

when mio became an adult, his father remained the one person he wanted to fully understand, he wanted to know all about him and he was his favorite person to listen to, he found him so bright, everything he said sounded so relevant

they stayed close until jongseob’s very last breath and his last thought was his toddler giggling in the studio.

theo acted like he didn’t cry when their baby was born, he did 

it was heartbreaking when not all of them could stay the night with their girl and newborn at the hospital, jiung and keeho ended up staying 

you got to rest as much as you possibly could, because you had 6 pairs of arms to take care of your baby, even if sometimes it was hard letting go because you just wanted to constantly be the one nurturing him, and it was the same for the next two children you gave life to 

ever since intak had read about postpartum depression that man was stressed the hell out, all the others kept reassuring him but he always watched you with that anxious puppy look 

shota had convinced himself he wouldn’t be good at this, but him and the kids developed their own language just with a look, and they never seemed bothered by how weird he was, it only encouraged them to be themselves 

you remember it so well, one day you were simply making coffee in the kitchen, it was early in the morning and the light filtered through the white curtains of the window. keeho was holding ren in his arms, he always acted like he was the one who handled everything the best but in reality he was also just a first time dad. shota was watching him, and kyo knew he hadn’t held ren much, like he wasn’t legitimate, or like he would mess it up. he walked to him, head supporting ren’s neck and handing the tiny baby to his papa. you couldn’t forget the look on shota’s face, or how he always asked to hold him after that. 

jiung was the one who constantly had the babies in a damn wrap carrier on his chest, or who had them in the tulip seat while he cooked or did anything around the house, he was insufferably good at keeping them calm around him, intak always asked how that was possible since they always seemed overly excited around him 

theo was very guilty of having authority but melting a little too easily, especially with your  daughter that he wanted so bad, so now if she wanted something how could he refuse? 

intak and shota would throw the kids in the air, catching them mid fall to make them giggle, you had mini heart attacks every time and jongseob did too, you could hear his desperation in the sounds he made when his heart skipped a beat 

the house had pets, it was too important to you to teach your children to respect animals, it was the first step to empathy. even if you already knew they’d be empaths, knowing how their parents are.

jongseob had naturally been the one to show the kids soft petting on the cats and dogs’ fur, his tone calm as he taught them ‘gentle hands’

when pets unfortunately got older and passed away, it was the most heartbreaking thing, he couldn’t possibly be the one looking at their faces when they had to break the news, it killed him 

usually, keeho would handle that, like he handled most emotional outbursts, he was great at sitting on the floor holding his babies in his arms and cradling them however long they needed. it demanded so much strength, theo would find him later and be the one to hold him in his arms until all that sadness found another place to sit 

you were grateful for how efficient theo was, he noticed the second a toddler was ready for napping just by one gesture, if they rubbed their eyes with their hands, if they got cranky, he was scooping them up

and he was just as quick with everything else, bath time, changing, homework when they got older, the kids listened to him and he didn’t need to yell or threaten anyone. 

he only got weak when they rebelled and got smart, it made him smile every time before he gave them the look 

jiah, their one daughter and youngest child, was biologically keeho’s and everyone could guess that just by being around her one second, and jongseob always sighed about raising a diva 

she understood her parents mechanics and you couldn’t do anything about it, she was the kind to use the round of bedtime kisses to gain time and avoid going to sleep, or using her pout to make shota read her a 5th story in japanese 

he always felt so close to the kids like it healed something inside of him, he played with them, let them give him strange hairstyles and put makeup on his face, he carried them on one arm and called it ‘the airplane’, and he talked to them like he talked to anyone else, never making them feel small 

you and jongseob could’ve sat hours watching shota and the kids, you were too proud of him. 

intak watched the three kids walk out the door alone for the first time to go to school on their own and he cried behind the window, jongseob came in and made a comment about this little bittersweet event before he noticed his partner’s tears and cupped his face to look at him briefly, letting out a heartfelt “aw,” before he hugged him. every milestone was very deep to intak. 

jiung couldn’t really let them be independent all the time, he acted like he was the one giving them the most liberty but it wasn’t true. yes, intak was the one who worried the most about them out there but jiung was literally becoming someone else when your kids were mentioned 

he texted them asking where they were, he stayed up until they got home from any party, he insisted on driving them to any activity or event, it was too important to him 

mio was the middle child but he was always very dreamy, he loved painting and his favorite activity was being on the balcony in stadiums to watch his dads perform on stage, whether it was for practice or the actual show, he had his headphones twice the size of his head protecting his little ears and he was mesmerized, sitting next to you — you always wanted to make sure this life seemed whimsical and magical to the kids, airplanes, hotels, concert venues and dorms. 

mio and shota loved walking the dogs together, and keeho followed to take pictures while theo looked at the shops around to bring their girlfriend flowers, because before being mom you were their lover first 

and don’t worry, the kids had a different nickname for each dad, and everyone recognized themselves.
