#dabbler

this is my super random blog full of super random thoughts. i post pretty much anytime i remember that i have tumblr - so i usually disappear for a few months (i'm working on it i promise!!)

i say random because i'm kind of a 'dabbler', in that i'm not deep into too many fandoms or hobbies/skills, but i like to learn about them! i post my thoughts, or little things i find out that i think are interesting or silly. i dabble in writing/worldbuilding, birds (im a birder teehee), music production, drawing, music theory, a capella, fanfiction, dance, k-pop, and classical music. there's more, but that's mainly just because i love to learn more about anything anyone ever mentions/ fandoms my friends are into/etc. i'm always happy to listen to anyone's hyperfixations/ interests because OMG I HAVE SUCH COOL AND NERDY FRIENDS LIKE GIVE ME SOME OF THAT *grabby hands* 😋😋😋

i do, however, have a particular passion for RM FROM BTS LIKE I LITERALLY LOVE HIS PERSONA SM AND HIS VOICE IS ART AND HIS HEART IS GOLD AND HE'S SOOOSOSOSOSO COOL BUT SERIOUSLY HE'S SO IMPORTANT TO ME I'VE FALLEN IN LOVE WITH HIS MUSIC TIME AND TIME AGAIN AND I PLAN ON CONTINUING THIS FOR AT LEAST ANOTHER 40 YEARS MAYBE 50 OMG WHAT'S THAT? YOU WANNA YAP ABOUT RM? YOU WANT RECS? SIT DOWN WE'RE BESTIES NOW YAYAYA

anyways this is my intro post (but honestly it's just my super awesome friends that follow me so most of you already know who i ammmmm🤭🤭)

Mirage: [doing something NOT normal] Is that normal?

Boomerang: [stares at him silently] ...no... it's not.

Oh my goodness! Boomerang may be the funny one with his humor and pranks, but Mirage is definitely the weird one! And he has an impressionable little brother too, so it’s double the weirdness!

To say Boomerang was use to Mirage was an understatement.

He could tell when Mirage entered a room by the smell of his hair gel and the sound of his footsteps. He could guess where the ARC was at any given moment and rarely be wrong. He could practically read Mirage’s mind with one look of the fancy haired trooper’s face.

Still, there were some things his brother did that stumped even Boomerang. Some little quirks that left the medic scratching his head over how he missed this odd trait.

“Does…” Squirrel paused, “does Mirage always sniff his food before he puts it in his mouth?”

Boomerang paused chewing, looking to his brother happily eating with his head in the clouds.

Every time the the fork went up, he took a quick sniff, then put it in his mouth satisfied.

Boomerang stared, watching him like an animal in a zoo.

“You never noticed?” Cosmos asked, “he’s done it for as long as I’ve known him.”

Now all the pilots were watching, looking perplexed and maybe regretting letting the Boomerang, Mirage, and Shadow join the pilots’ table for dinner that night.

Mirage paused chewing, noticing his audience. He quickly swallowed, looking nervous and even a little bit embarrassed by all their eyes on him.

“What?” He asked.

“You sniff your food.” Radar stated.

“Correction,” Baby interjected, “you sniff every bite before it goes into your mouth.”

“Yeah?” Mirage turned to Boomerang, “is that normal?”

Boomerang shook his head, “no… it’s not.”

“But…” Mirage looked at them all, “poison?”

“It’s our mess hall grub,” Baby stated, “it’s the same as always.”

Mirage shrugged, “guess I’ll let you know if it’s expired or smells off.”

“Weirdo,” Baby grunted, and they resumed eating and chatting.

Tracks nudged Boomerang, lifting a finger up from his glass to point to the end of the table.

Dabbler—as usual—was doodling in a sketchbook, while chatting Shadow’s ear off about color theory. Shadow listened, bringing his fork up, taking a quick sniff, and then eating the bite.
