I went on a little ACNH dream trip to @cydril‘s Coricco! I loved every minute of it.. such a great atmosphere :D

Padpa said that they didn't want rutile to try to fix them since they think they are a burden. I think when phos brought Padpa to the moon they probably thought they were doing both a favor but I guess that wasn't the case. I think that Padpa was thankful for that because they no longer are a burden like they thought they were

Pad is very smart and very old. I think they feel the futility of the gems way of life more acutely than everyone else. They were basically on board with Phos's plan when they talked for ten minutes way back when. They reason they 'changed sides' so quickly was because they saw no other way forward to stop all the gems from being picked off by the moon people.

Probably off-topic and a little biased, but I sort of understand what padpa is coming from. They were an extremely capable gem that was reduced to a useless rock in a box. Wanting rutile to stop assembling them is pretty much asking to be euthanized if they were mortal. From padpa's perspective, they have nothing else to lose. They don't even know if they're really fixed. For them, the future is uncertain. It's understandable that they would want to use whatever's left of their life to make a change and end this pointless war altogether.

veeery nice additions, the thought of no longer being a burden to Rutile definitely influenced Padpa’s behavior after coming to the moon. I also really like the idea that, due to their old age, they would be on board with basically anything that would break with the monotony or with the usual (and unsuccessful) way of doing things, because it’s something that we’ve also seen Yellow and Aechmea struggle with, along with all the moon people.

i wouldn’t say that i lost all sympathy for them but i said in one of my posts that rutile did a 180 when phos took padpara and they went from calm to batshit crazy. but except for the sympathy thing i agree with them. rutile is very selfish when it comes to padpara. and i remember not quite getting these pages when first reading through them and thought that rutile stayed behind and kind of accepted phos taking pad along but then i read these and was confused, because i thought that they’d see that that’s the best way to help them come back to life. but they didn’t and would have tried another thousands of years to bring them back themselves than let anyone else try. and that sucks. you can try things a couple of times but at some point you gotta accept defeat and ask for help. and then.

I kinda thought this too. We get to see newborn gems later on and they are quite different. I wonder what gem culture would have been like without Sensei.

 ^ yeah, he 'made' the moves in the game, and thats what he couldn't predict the end result of
