WEEK 2: DECAY @inktober There's so much I want to share about this piece. 1. It wasn't the subject I originally intended to draw today, but the weather prevented me from accessing my intended subject. Not for a lack of trying. This gorgeous, dilapidated boat is across the way from us. I've been meaning to draw it for so long, but you know life & other projects happen. I really think there is a beauty in decay. Stated another way, decay really is just change & everything around us is constantly changing. Living on the water has brought that into sharper focus for me. It isn't necessarily a scary thing (although it certainly can be), it's just reality & I'm learning to make peace with that. 3. Oh my goodness, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the nib grind that @customnibstudio did on my @kaweco.germany Lilliput. It's an Extra Fine nib with a Needle Point reverse write! It's SO incredible for cross hatching! THANK YOU GENA!!! I'm hoping to put together a @youtube video sometime soon about fountain pens & their application in sketching & artwork.
