âŚA list of eligible bachelors. Something burned down Felixâs spine at those words, mind repeating them over and over again in his âMotherâs That Womanâs voice until it was all he could hear. So, he did what he did best, and reacted without thought. While he neither understood nor cared to understand tact, he at least knew kindness, could at least generally assume they didnât like the position they were put in. (The kindness came from his sister, though anyone else would be hard-pressed to name a moment where he was kind.)
âThatâs bullshit,â didnât exactly snap, but it was a near thing, burning gaze settled on their right ear. âEveryoneâs obsessed with Crests and arranged marriages to get Crests. Itâs fucking idiotic, if you ask me.â (His mind attempted to name the burning feeling as jealousy, but he ignored it; impossible to be jealous when he hadnât even said anything, yet.) âIf you donât want to get married, just tell him that.â As if it were so easy, but even Gwenn would admit his sense of what was and wasnât kind was a bit skewed, even on a good day.
âOr if you had somebody in mind, itâd make him shut up for a while.â
