my boyfriend had me watch The Last of Us, and now i dont know shit abt it but what i do know anout, is massachusetts. I was born and raised in this goddamn state, im a thoroughbred masshole thru and thru.
Now, i will give TLOU credit for including a cumberland farms (referred to as cumbies from here on), but theres 2 things that bothered me immensely.
1. Aint no goddamn cumbies gonna have a fucking arcade cabinet
2. THE LOGO IS WRONG
now, if you didnt grow up here, youre not gonna know that.
Now this is a show vs game thing, as i learned looking up reference photos. In the show, its told that the last day of “normal” life was in 2003.
So why does the goddamn cumbies have this logo?
This logo, according to logopedia and my lived experience, started getting phased out in goddamn 200fucking9. I remember when the one in my hometown got changed in 2014 during a remodel, I was pissed bc wtf is that little leaf for.
but if you look at the logo in the game, we see this beauty:
look at that beautiful attention to detail
this is the logo that wouldve been widespread in 2003!
So, points to the video game for having both a cumcums and the correct logo, but half points to the TV show.
