One of the many places on my list for the coming year, bring on winter!

Watching the clouds descend from the Cuillin Ridge into Coire Lagan, Isle of Skye. 

Matt was traversing the Cuillin ridge with Alastair and Innes for the last two days. The boat ride in from Elgol was a great approach and then we headed up into the cloud. This hung around all day, all night, while bivvying, and for a few wet hours in the morning. Just as a slight air of despair was creeping in the cloud lifted and we got some amazing views and dry rock as well! The cloud was beneath us at times and pouring slowly over the ridge at others-what a treat. The rest of the traverse was a joy and we had a great view of the whole of Skye from Sgurr nan Gillean just before 4pm. The traverse is always hard work but it definitely gives the best rewards of all-great experiences, good memories and tired legs!
