I was in the restroom watching an animatic of someone’s CU AU which looked like it was drawn by you but all VAd by one person and it was really charming tbh, I remember Krupp sounding gruffy and arrogant.
From what I remember it was a “Krupp finds out about Captain” AU. I recall Krupp being in therapy rambling on about a monster fight he just got out of with a less then impressed therapist, which then later cut to the teachers lounge (which looked more like a man cave complete with a pool table) and Krupp was bragging to Mr. Meaner about how “he” saved the town while Meaner was just fiddling around with the table.
Sorry if you aren’t interested or anything I just felt the need to tell you because who better to tell then THE Captain and Krupp guy okay have a good day
oomf from Twitter oh my god you might have taken a glimpse into the future. or more like some sort of alternate timeline where I was focused enough to make a Captain Underpants animatic of all things.
no seriously like once upon a time when I was still fixated on Captain Underpants, I was trying to think up of my own "Krupp finds out about Captain" AU. It definitely included a therapist, which was my self-insert kinda OC.
excuse me, here's where i get to rambling but my vague synopsis was: A new counselor was hired into Jerome Horwitz Elementary, after the old one was fired for being "incompetent" (hey his words, not mine). A 25 year old woman with a phd in guidance and counseling, named Ms. Pretencha (might change the name). After seeing the miserable and depressing state of the school, she makes it her mission to make the school grounds a mentally healthy place. Starting with the source of all the misery, which was the principal AKA Mr. Krupp.
Here were a few sketches from long ago as i tried to conceptualize the fanfic. It featured my OC Ms. Pretencha talking with Mr Krupp while pointing at a camera on a tripod (if you can see it). The idea there was that the two would document their session and try to capture or figure out how the switching (to Captain Underpants) works. i think "He calls himself Captain Underpants (funniest thing I've ever seen)" was the working title.
mentioning this one again, a favorite one of mine. very out-of-context.
and another one that was a short dialogue-less comic that should have dialogue but i couldn't really figure out how to write a funny joke in time. It referenced @/possessable's cu post that was deleted sadly.
The part in your dream where Krupp brags about being the one who saved the city than Cap himself reminds me of when I also wanted to adapt the "Krupp pretends to be Cap for a day" kind of story. The idea that Krupp has to try to fill in the hero job while Cap had a little vacation was an interesting story to tell that ive drawn a couple of times before! That's another story for another post.
in the end it never really went past that conceptualization stage and it's left in my old sketchbooks from a time when i was fixated in Captain Underpants. Someday maybe I'll write about it properly now that I'm in a more stable state of mind. But that is a long shot.
