The 1996 Spooktacular New Adventures of Casper Series
This is a canon all of it's own. WHAT? Yes, I know they have almost all of the same characters. There is a huge difference between this series and The Movie making it a different canon however.
In this canon Dibs and Carrigan do not exist. Not a single time are the two characters from the movie ever mentioned. There are also hints of nods to the original comics. Example being that when a person dies they are REBORN as a ghost and have to go to a scare school where they slowly grow up into an Adult Ghost. We see this with Stretch when he has to go to his "high ghoul reunion" and we're shown teen versions of The Trio attending scare school knowing that he is now an adult in the series.
We do see The Ghostly Trio go back in time and turn into humans for it as well as a human version of Miss Banshee who was super timid and sweet at the time. They are wearing 1800's period clothing then as well.
Casper's age is labeled as 112 and later 113 and a half! (This age tracks as it would've been 1895 or 1885 that he passed then. Considering the series was in 1996, even if the writers math didn't fully math. They got close.) He also is shown to have had a pet dog named Pal at some point who also passed away. The Ghostly Trio do not appear to like dogs as they try to get rid of Pal multiple times before being scared off my Pal's doggy mom. Casper's personality in this is also a bit edgier filled with sarcasm and snap.
Still seems like it takes place in Maine.
Dr. Harvey - In this version he specifically comes to Whipstaff Manor to prove his peers in the psychological field wrong about doing Ghost Therapy since he was laughed at. No mention of Amelia ever making the heart warming story of the movie disappear. In the series The Trio just continue to harass him and any friendship seems little to none. Again most likely because they had nothing to bond over with kicking out Carrigan.
Kat Harvey - Dragged along with her Dad since that's his literal job and is more or less labeled a freak for it. No mention of the Lazarus or what happened with Caspers dad ever here. Her and Casper's friendship is there but seems incredibly strained as Kat is almost always snippy or annoyed at him. She is very much still head over heals for Vic. On that Note Casper seems to have fallen for a girl ghost in one of the later episodes showing his crush on Kat has been over for a while.
Due to the lack of anything from the original movie happening these two no longer have those bonding moments over lost parents or character growth.
J.T. McFadden - Although never mentioned by name there are still hints at him being a mad scientist of some sort as we see Casper go into the lab many times. No mention of The Lazarus or what happened in the movie. In fact Casper has to drink so mush clay stuff and fake being a human for a day.
Miss Banshee - The absolute 100% love interest of The Ghostly Trio and Casper school teacher who tries to teach him how to Scare along with his cousin Spooky and Spooky' girlfriend Poil. She's stern, stubborn, bossy, and loves attention! She also loves dragging The Ghostly Trio on by keeping them invested in her but never committing to a relationship unless it's to mess with their heads. She gets jealous when they like other ghosts/ghouls even if she doesn't want a relationship with them. The one who actually gets the closest has been Fatso. You go my dude!
Spooky and Poil - Spooky is Casper's scary cousin with an accent. He is the tough little ghost and goes out of his way to prove how scary he is and loves having contests to show it! His girlfriend is Poil who is as sweet as they come and a little bubble-brained, but that's okay she's got a lot of heart and can be just as scary and gross when she wants to! Poil is friends with Casper. Spooky and Casper are more like...frenemies.
