In your rise au did splinter hit Leo? I remember seeing a video of that on your channel but I couldnāt find it again so I wanted to ask? And if he did what made him do so?
Many of my lore for Rise Kids is going to be rewritten a bit, but in shortā¦yes.
The problem started with Raph adopting Sho. Since nothing bad had happened recently before and the Turtles were starting to be more independent, Splinter unfortunately started slipping back into his more neglectful habits, which REALLY pissed off Raph. Raph hadnāt planned on adopting a baby anytime soon- hell, he was just 19, and even though it was his choice and he deeply loved his baby, he really needed advice- advice Splinter clearly didnāt have due to just having Raph take care of the others when they were little.
Then things started coming to a head when most of the missions started failing because Raph wasnāt there with the other turtles. He couldnāt go on missions when he had a CHILD to look after with no one helping him much, but nevertheless Splinter still started scolding and shaming Raph for not taking part of his responsibilities- responsibilities he didnāt even HAVE anymore due to Leo being the leader. Eventually Raph couldnāt take it anymore and blew up at Splinter, releasing his feelings about everything over the years- Raph never getting much of a childhood because he was trying to give his siblings one, forced to standing on the sides while Leo spiraled deeper into depression, and how after the Kraang attack he was never able to pick up the pieces because he was always picking up everyone elseās.
The fight escalated and both Raph and Splinter yelled things they could never take back, and Raph stormed out of the room, packed his things in almost a trance, grabbed Sho, and started to walk out of the Lair. The others-particularly Leo- tried to reason with him and begged him to not go. Raph snapped back at them that āthey had never needed him for a while, and were always leaving him behind anyways, so why would they start now!?ā and he left, not speaking to anyone except Cassandra and April for weeks. Eventually when he started working for Big Mama, he cut contact with everyone and they didnāt see him until months later, when Leo rescued Ava and Raph intervened to save them both.
Raph moving out hit everybody hard, but when Ava joined the family, it started getting better- except for with Splinter. Maybe he had realized how much of a shitty dad he had been and it was catching up to him, or he was just in shock that one of his own kids had actually called him out on everything, but he started distancing himself from EVERYONE- Mikey, Donnie, Leo, even April. And with a new baby and the other Turtles starting to think about things like future jobs, partners, and April and Sunita already raising Lil Gardener, no one was really there to be there for Splinter, soā¦it got worse and he started drinking.
The night it happened, Leo hadnāt gotten much sleep since Ava was a fussy baby, and Splinter had just stumbled in boozed out of his mind, so it wasnāt a good recipe for family fluff. By the time Splinter was drinking so much, the Turtles and April had definitely noticed by now, but nothing they were trying helped. Splinter made a drunken complaint about how in his eyes, no one cared enough to make him stop anyway, and Leo, who knew the truth, pointed it out and they started fighting. It got loud, and Donnie and Mikey were both watching nervously as soon as they heard, but it wasnāt anything too bad, until Leo brought Raphās name into the shouting match and Splinter snapped, slapping Leo so hard his face was bruised and bleeding as he hit the floor.
The whole Lair went quiet, and Leo was suddenly terrified, his face stinging. He didnāt know what to do, so panicking, he grabbed Ava and teleported to Raphās apartment. Splinter started to panic too, as he saw again, another one of his kids left, so he turned to Donnie and Mikey and started yelling at them, forbidding them to leave and other things. Donnie was torn between the only parental figure they ever had had, and itās twin, but he realized in a split-second their REAL parental figure had been Raph, not Splinter, so without a word, Donnie dragged a sobbing, confused Mikey to his lab, locked it, and while Splinter banged on the door, demanding they come out, the two got into the Turtle Tank and left, also heading to Raphās apartment. Later, they snuck back into the Lair to grab their things, but the Turtles all pretty much lived at Raphās apartment until they all moved in with their respective spouses and started their own families.
Nowadays, Splinter rarely sees the Turtles OR their kids, but when he does, heās a significantly better grandpa than he was a father. Mikey got back in contact with him first, after he rescued Full Moon, and theyāve made up since, although Mikey was always implied to be the favorite anyway. Donnie also talks with him but never for long- they donāt want to really take any big steps until Dee hears what Leo has to say. Leo and Splinter talk occasionally but itās clear Leo isnāt really ready to see him again yet. Splinter and Raph havenāt spoken since the latter moved out, and currently Raph has no intentions of reconciling.
