I'm testing out drawing apps so I can replace ibis paint at some point, at least on phones. Drawing app I'm testing on is Hipaint. I'm not a reviewer and I'm not great at it so here's my first art from this app to test it before actually taking it seriously.
You can skip the first attempt drawing app review if you only want to see my drawings.
So far it's really fun to use but I don't know how to remove the pixels from the line art. Yes I'm using pixel art but it's add some pixels there where I'm trying to test it. While I barely use vector pen on ibis paint, it helps out to remove pixels.
Also when you want to use new brushes, you have to buy VIP so it's best to make your own brush or the non VIP brush.
Now onto the second drawing!
I wasn't lying when I said that I'm having a lot of fun to draw in this app. The liquify tool is confusing to use at first but once you get the idea of it, it's a lot easier to use.
Unfortunately you can't use bucket tool the line art as it covers the background so I use the "willow leaf brush" just like the lasso brush and I gotta say, I missed out on the lasso brush and now I understand why it's used.
Finally the stabilizer. It wasn't easy to use, to me at least and that's because it's not simplify so I have no words to say but it's complicated for me. You can tell how shaky the line art is.
Now the app itself. No complicated things in there and I don't know if they use ads or how much it has since I turn off the internet connection. However when you zoom in and drag the canvas around, it zoom out on it's in the original size randomly for no reason. I don't know if it's my phone or not.
I'm unsure with the tools yet since I have no issues with other than keep forgetting a lot where it was.
There's also a selection of UI the first thing you open the app.
New UI
Old UI
I didn't test the old UI since it recommended me the new UI and I'm not in the mood to test it, I might will tomorrow to review the old UI.
Overall, the ranking is 7/10. Not bad at all, fun to use but you need to buy VIP to use other pens or other things to use. It's also actually simple to use than ibis paint despite struggling with it for a bit with my first impression. It's better for beginners imo.
