Small rant of concern for something that just makes me antsy.
My mom and stepdad are supposed to be renting our house that we own in CT. They are working on moving in currently, and we asked them to put their bank info in on the mortgage site because we donāt want to deal with the whole reminding them to pay us every month thingā¦ we told them to log in and enter their info by the 30th. They didnāt.
The mortgage usually comes out of Frankās account between the first and fifth, and this month, it came out on the first. We canāt afford the mortgage AND having to pay for rent here in WA. If youāre unfamiliar, military housing takes 100% of your housing allowanceā¦ which means that the mortgage payment came out of Frankās regular paycheck. We donāt see any of his paychecks if this continues, yet we still have other bills (cars, utilities, etc), gas, groceries, etc. that we have to pay for. She said sheād send us the money, but every time I bring it up, she brushes it off and is all āyeah, yeah, we will! Iāll Venmo it to you or somethingā¦ā š«
My mom has a history of not paying rent and being evicted from places. I donāt know why I thought it would be different now that she has a husband who IS financially stable and responsible. So yeah, maybe I shouldnāt have trusted this, but also, I figured her husband would be on top of it all. And I know, theyāre in the process of getting ready to sell the house they live in, which makes it hard, but they told us theyād be doing that by the end of Novemberā¦ and they havenāt even packed their house up yet.
Iām just stressed. We have things we have to pay for, we have a baby on the wayā¦ we canāt afford to be paying for two houses at the same time. Maybe we should have just gone the property management route and rented to strangers and risked everything that comes with that. š
