This event will again not be taking place this year.

I am focusing on my, and possibly the, last year of Captain Swan Secret Santa. Which does currently have sign ups live right now. You can find that post HERE

For anyone waiting to hear about this event. I’m sorry but there will be no gift exchange this year. Real life was hitting me hard and by the time I remembered this event I felt it was too late to ask for anyone to sign up.

Sign up will be open until November 26. 

This event happening is determined by the number of people that sign up. That being said it will happen even if there are only 4 of us this year. So please don’t be discouraged give this event a shot and sign up.

Now that signs ups are closed I’m sure there are a lot of questions on how this works and what are the rules.

First how it will work:

Tomorrow Wednesday November 30th at roughly 1pm Central standard time USA. I will make a post with everyone’s gift wants and don’t want.

Ex: Giftee 1 would like a Friends with benefits au, sharing one bed, established relationship fluff. Doesn’t want character death, smutt, Neal.

Giftee 2 would like a season 3-4 missing scenes, holiday family fluff, fic art. Doesn’t want whump, Regina as a friend, au.

And so on and so forth. Everyone participating will be tagged in this post. If I see a tag not working I will message that person that the post is live.

Once you decide what gift you want to make you will message (not send an ask) this page saying which giftee you want. I will edit the post so it will be crossed off to show that giftee is taken. The post will be live until every gift is taken. If you ask for a giftee that is already taken I will tell you to pick another one.

Rules:

You do not have to be anonymous for this event. Though you can if you so chose.

You do not have to make all the gift ideas. You are only required to make one. Though you can use all the gift ideas if YOU so chose to.

You do have to abide by the DONTs if someone doesn’t want a certain thing in there gift please do not put it in. If you do you will not be allowed to join this event next year.

You do not have to contact your giftee until you post your gift. Though you can if you so chose.

If you need to drop out for whatever reason PLEASE CONTACT THIS PAGE! If you drop out with no communication you will not be allowed to join the event next year.

WE HIT DOUBLE DIGITS! That’s right so for anyone who feared this event wouldn’t happen don’t worry it’s happening!

Not able to commit an entire gift this season?

No worries. You can still support this event by being a Santas Helper.

Santas Helpers can do a number of things. They can be a someone to bat around some ideas with. They can help look for pictures, and references for art. They can be a BETA reader looking for typos and offering advice. They can help Santa stay on track. Santa Helpers are most importantly there to support and cheer on their Santa.

And if the Santa Helper is willing. In case a Santa should fall off the roof a Santa Helper can step in for Santa. This is not a necessary requirement for being a Santa Helper but is appreciated if you are willing.

The Captain Swan Gift Exchange is like secret santa but with a lot less pressure.

When you sign up you will give 2-3 basic but specific ideas of what kind of gift you would like. EX: I want friends to lovers fic, holiday art, angst.

Along with a short summary of the gift you are comfortable making. EX: I write fluffy fics and make basic fic art. 

After sign up closes giftees will either be assigned or up for grabs. (not quite sure how yet)

If you wish to get more detail from your giftee go ahead but you don’t have to and you don’t have to stay anonymous if you don’t wish to. If you like to be sneaky by all means be anonymous.

Gifts will then be posted December 23-26.
