Young theatre fans: Okay look I really admire you and I think youâre so so talented, but I respectfully disagree. I live halfway across the world from NYC and I simply donât have the disposable income to afford to see the show on Broadway. Not only are the tickets expensive, Iâd have to pay for the at least one adult thatâs accompanying me, as well as our meals, plane tickets, hotel room, and other tourist attractions in the city to make sure we get our moneyâs worth. This makes your show - and Broadway as a whole - inaccessible for people like me, of which there are many. While I respect your opinion and I totally understand your view, I feel like your comments were classist and excludes many of your young international fans - or even domestic fans that can not afford to travel to the opposite side of the continent to see a 2 1/2 hour show. Watching you perform as one of my favourite, globally adored characters was truly amazing, Iâm in awe of your talent - Iâm just disappointed I couldnât see it live, I had to watch a video thatâs been on YouTube for a while, and now I physically canât see the Broadway show in which you performed live as the coronavirus pandemic meant that it shut. These YouTube videos are literally the only way I and other fans can watch you perform in this role without flying to America from the other side of the world. I love you so much this is just my opinion xx
Those Broadway Actorsâ˘ď¸: âYou are the reason Broadway will not return.â You are selfish, how dare you watch a bootleg and deprive Broadway actors from receiving the money you would spend on their show that is now closed. I donât care that youâre a young fan of mine and most likely a minor, especially when considering the young average age of my fanbase. Itâs not my fault my show was inaccessible when it was open, if you canât afford these costs then donât bother being a part of this community.
