Dave’s vocals are a lil tough to get used to, but they’re very fun :3

“The Disintegrators” was held up as an example of Megadeth eyeing a return to thrash while they were blogging throughout the Cryptic Writings sessions, but only it and “FFF” really counted as heavy metal.  And even then the track felt compromised by Dann Huff’s overly safe production, which to be fair was a function of him trying to make it feel consistent with the rest of the album, while it wasn’t at all clear anyone in the band besides Nick Menza was really into it.  Lyrically it felt like rehashing and a bit self-conscious, as did the riffing though it still had some vintage Mustaine-isms as did his whine.  Furthermore, even in diluted state this lineup cracked with chemistry and synced naturally, and that was heard throughout “The Disintegrators” which made both it and “FFF” a fitting bow for the Mustaine/Ellefson/Friedman/Menza iteration of Megadeth.
