2 mexican girls: Adela (my Coco’s OC) and Cruz Ramirez (Cars 3) 🇲🇽 💀💀 ♥♥♥

That’s it! I can’t hide my love for this precious Banana Babe any longer! Ever since I saw Cars 3, I couldn’t help but sink into the Cars fandom on account of my emotional connection to this amazing girl! Here are at least 10 reasons why I love Cruz Ramirez! 

1. Her positive attitude

I really love that she gives encouragement and motivation to others even though she never got to live her own dreams. I love her title as the “Maestro of Motivation” it really fits her sense of optimism in any situation.

2. She’s a Lightning McQueen enthusiast

“I grew up watching you on TV!” 

The relationship between Lightning and Cruz really touched me in a way that I can’t describe. It amazes me that Lightning has made such an impact in her life and that he saw it fit to turn her dream into a reality. He is such a father figure to her and it just reminds me of the relationship that I have with my Heavenly Father. 

3. She can dance! 

I just LOVE LOVE LOVE the Zumba training scene with her and Lightning! He wasn’t impressed, but I enjoyed every minute of it! 

“Reach for your lunch!” 

4. She’s extremely polite

Can’t get over her calling Lightning “Mr. McQueen” through the entire movie. Even when they had their argument, she still maintained that respect.

5. Her love for the Crabbies

She stopped mid-way as they raced down the beach just to make sure that none of the little crabs got crushed. She truly loves all living things.

6. She is an emoji

I can’t get enough of this girl’s facial expressions! My personal favorite is the lip bite that she does when she gets super excited or nervous.

7. The small girlish shriek she does before racing

On two occasions, Cruz screamed before she pulled off from the starting line. She did it during the training scene with Smokey and at the very end of the movie as she races with the Fabulous Lightning McQueen (watch those scenes again and keep your ears open).

8. Her investment in the racing world

Apart from her love for Lightning, Cruz also knows a lot about Louise Barnstormer Nash. I can only assume that she too served as an inspiration for Cruz’s desire to get into racing. 

9. She has many layers as a character

When I initially saw a clip with Cruz introducing herself to Lightning for the first time, I expected her to be this superficial, upbeat, annoying character but she turned out to have a deep and emotional backstory which added a lot of heart to the film. She added a new depth to the Cars franchise and even added more depth to Lightning’s character as well (if she didn’t vent to him, he would’ve never realized her dream and given her a chance to fulfill it). 

10. She mirrors me

I know it seems like I’m going way too deep with an animated talking car, but I never saw so many similarities between me and this character before (here are a few big ones):

1) She struggles with self doubt just as much as I do.

2) She tries her best to encourage others so that she can fill the emptiness she felt after losing her dream in the same way that I long to help others while filling my own voids. 

3) She is a female minority: She is a Latino car (played by Cristela Alonzo), I am an African American woman. 

4) She has a father figure in Lightning McQueen while I have an anchor in Christ and a Heavenly Father who looks out for my best interest and spiritual well being.
