My Top 10 Records of 2014: 1. Crows-An-Wra - Kalopsia
A stunning collection of weirdo punk; doing stuff that nobody else is doing right now. Enviable sounds.
2. Human Hands - S/T LP
Absolutely heartbreaking from start to finish. Simple.
3. Martha - Courting Strong
The best pop record that any punks have ever made. Full of catchiness and fun.
4. Healing Powers - 7"
Probably the best screamo band around right now. Probably the best 7" that the UK scene has produced in recent years.
5. Self Defense Family - Duets
Nice to hear this band's more mellow side. Challenges themselves even more than usual to have that much melody.
6. We Came Out Like Tigers - Ever-Crushed at Peckett's Well
Big, bold and bleak. A band that the UK will sorely miss.
7. La Dispute - Rooms of the House
Didn't really like Wildlife much, but this album actually peaked my interest. Better song writing and experimentation. Again, the mellowe stuff is nice.
8. Tigers Jaw - Charmer
Good, clean fun. Nice to relax to.
9. Trap Them - Blissfucker
That guitar tone. Those riffs. Put together. Done.
10. United Nations - The Next Four Years
Haven't listened as much as I should've, but great listening for winter days.
