Someone recently scrolled all the way back to my second ever post on IG which was my crow pose and the caption alongside it said "getting a bit stronger in my crow pose". . The first time I ever tried crow pose in a yoga class was the day I fell hook line and sinker for Yoga. I was instantly curious about how anyone could ever hold their body on two hands. That first attempt was a disaster, I discovered muscles I never knew existed and basically thought I broke my wrists from one attempt. I was sore for a month afterwards 😂 I practiced often and I can't even tell you how proud I was posting that second post to IG. I was beyond elated and felt superhuman in those 4 seconds of hold 💪 The past 3 years I've put the work in, building strength and with a little bit of brute force and ignorance 😉 I can now fairly consistently crow press. We have our off days too 😉 I never learned any of this in a yoga class, in all my yoga years I've never been able to find a yoga class that teaches these skills which is really disappointing. It seems to be reserved for the elite. (Not in my class though! I don't grade poses! If I see a strong student no matter how long they're doing yoga they'll be crow pressing whether they like it or not, same applies to bendy students😁) If you want to progress and you can't find a class locally then my advice is use the incredible resources you find online like IG and be intuitive! Knowing your own body and believing in its capabilities will be the key to your progress. Finding a good teacher who's willing to push you is not easy so you gotta be prepared to push and motivate yourself. 💪 I've done a post before on drills I used to build to crow press which you will find further back on my feed. If you can't find it let me know..🎉 . #yoga #questforthepress #crowpress
