Titus 3:5
He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we have done, but because of His own compassion and mercy, by the cleansing of the new birth (spiritual transformation, regeneration) and renewing by the Holy Spirit,
Commentary
God has already done everything to save us. Start to finish, salvation is His work — not ours. Nothing was left up to luck or our performance. That’s incredibly freeing.
But our culture runs on achievement. It’s easy to slip into thinking we have to earn God’s favor. That lie shuts us down spiritually. We scroll, compare, and walk around feeling “not good enough.” Anxiety whispers that we’re too broken to matter. So we either quit on faith, or we grind harder to close the gap ourselves — and just end up feeling like bigger failures.
That’s not the gospel. Hear this: You didn’t design your rescue — God did. It isn’t about how good you are. It’s about how good Jesus is.
In Christ, God paid to buy us back. In Christ, He gave the sacrifice that covers our sin. In Christ, the innocent One was condemned so the guilty could be declared righteous. In Christ, He repaired what was broken between us and Him.
This is what you can rest in today: The sinless One became sin for you. You are loved, accepted, forgiven, set free... because of Jesus. He is enough. All you have to do is trust Him.
