Joann Fabrics, a business deemed non-essential, has chosen to stay open. Their reasoning is we provide fabrics to make scrubs, masks, medical wear, etc. • We havent carried medical grade fabric in 2 years- it went clearance and is sold out except on rare occasions. • Our fabric is not safe or sanitary to that level unless it is prewashed. I have seen a child bite fabric, fabric from the floor put back on the shelf, and much, much worse happen to fabric that we are required to sell. • No one is making fucking scrubs or medical wear. You know what they're doing? Reupholstering chairs or couches 'they've been meaning to get to', putting together quilts for personal use, picking up fabric for sundresses for when this blows over, and even cosplay. The O N L Y "beneficial" thing my coworkers and I have cut for has been the face masks except •  No local hospital is accepting donations of masks due to them being made incorrectly or just not pre-washed or sanitized. I can not afford to call in to my shifts. We can choose a leave of absence, but we can not claim unemployment and we will not be compensated in any way. Please dont support Joann Fabrics right now, or possibly ever if they're this loud about their greed for money being more important than their employees or customers
