Rose red (2002 that is) is such an endearing horror show, it's so clumsy and 2000-esque (which, of course), and this camera work makes everything look like millennia beginning beer ad. It is especially interesting to watch typical King, with typical King's characters, somehow not in 80-s but in Shirley Jackson Hill house, and somehow recognize in it all of the more modern haunted house media. Mike Flanagan for example. Honestly, this is what captures my attention the most in older movies - recognizing modern movies, like seeing your friend's eyes on her grand-grand-fathers photo. Ahhh, this is how we changed... But not so much. What actually horrifies me, is that this little series from twenty five years ago shows those nnaaaasty feminism ideas that would be so badly scolded this days. Oh well, two steps forward, three steps back

One of the reason "the mechanisms were Jon's band in college" is my favorite is bc the image of Jonathan Jarchivist Sims and Nikolas Orsinov singing Rose Red is absolutely amazing
