I wonder if Tide could actually break our berth fragging me…
How long would Crimson let me tease him before he’s bending me over the nearest flat surface and going to town….
Primus those engine growls do things to me…
GOOD SOUNDS:
25. TACOCAT
Tacocat is a totally FUN-TACULAR (and superly-duperly colorful & sparkly) punk band from Seattle, Washington, USA. Consisting of four members: Lelah Maupin (Drums), Bree McKenna (Bass), Emily Nokes (Lead Vocals), and Eric Randall (Guitar) - Tacocat is a totally solid punk outfit that manages to have a ton of fun (and sound damn good while doin’ it).
No strangers of awesomeness - Tacocat has an extremely thoughtful tongue-in-cheek satirical edge with a significant elegance to their melodic sound (with at times a raw femininity derived from the band’s admiration of the riot grrrl movement and all things ‘90s). Tacocat’s strong female presence (with the male counterpart melodically driving the distortion on his axe) - the band’s motivations stem from a refreshing female perspective that does indeed have an accessibility to all listeners due to it’s overall brilliance.
Wordplay galore - Tacocat’s wit & charisma are just as colorful as the band’s overall appearance & style (which has been matched by only a certain few). The band has a totally chill, yet energetic demeanor, which is complimented very well by the intelligent, yet harmoniously confrontational lyrical work that can sometimes pick a fight (in a way that totally works and validates the lyrical content). Plus, it’s totally rad that their name is a palindrome (originating from absurdist internet stimuli).
If a unicorn farted out a glitter bomb you would get Tacocat - plain and simple. Such an Excellent band!
Happy Listening!

Me a few days ago: Mood swings, chocolate cravings, and acne.... Me today:
My Menarche Journey
men·ar·che məˈnärkē/ noun the first occurrence of menstruation.
My menarche story is also very interesting, but also taught me a lesson that I would never forget. I remember being in 4th grade and having a scary feeling that I had never felt before. I frantically excused myself to the restroom and immediately made a makeshift pad out of tissue until my mom picked me up. I just remember being so nervous and ashamed because I knew this would bring up topics that were uncomfortable for me at the time.Â
I received my first pack of maxi pads, and tried to adjust to the sensation of feeling like I was wearing a diaper. I just remember the talk from my mom was simple and straight to the point. She told me that this meant that I was a woman now and my body was capable of reproducing.
11 years later, I realize that I was never given a full description of what menstruation was, and how I could take care of myself. It wasn’t until I got to college that I even became interested in women's health and learn about my body. My mom was timid to share information about my period because her mother was the same way and so on. With being passionate about menstruation and women’s health, I hope to break the streak and help my future daughter(s) as much as I can. Menstruation is natural and we need to remember to never be ashamed of our bodies!Â
xoxo, M’aryÂ
