I believe there is a very real tension between creative ambition and budgetary constraints, and it is insufficiently recognised that architecture is a negotiation between these extremes. In other words, the art of architecture requires a form of creative optimism and, at times, a suspension of logic, while experience and common sense also play an important part.

My creative ambition is art and beauty and happiness. I love things that make people happy and that make me happy. I admire love and the feeling of being at home and comfort and feeling safe and secure. I love performing and having people love me and what I do. I love making people smile through choreography, dancing, singing, acting, laughter, or anything else that could make someone appreciate me and having me around. The obstacles to this though, are not succeeding in what I love to do. If I happen to not get an audition or if something I do doesn’t make anyone happy, I shut down and feel helpless. I have to remember that not everybody is going to love me all the time and not everything I do is a good idea and I need to focus on what is good and bad in my life. I need to focus on the good things and work toward that.
