Since Iāve been really busy with a lot of things lately, I havenāt been able to keep up with my usual regular updating schedule for pretty much all of my blogs. The fact that Iāve begun working on a few more blogs doesnāt make it any easier.
As a result, Iāve had to change my posting schedule for all my blogs, so Iāll be able to update them all in a fairly consistent manner. Hereās the new blog posting schedule:
Tumblr (this blog) - every 5 days
Potter Plotholes - every 5 days, but Iāve got some stuff planned for this blog, so the sched might change
Soyuz Mir - tentatively every 5 days. Iāve also got stuff planned for this blog, but the new sched is likely to remain either way
Hetalia Archives - temporarily on hiatus though I canāt say for how long
Quote Archives - on permanent hiatus; details to follow in a separate post
Writing Archives (my main Google Blogger blog) - every 2 days
Anime Archives (Anime Meta) - every 5 days
Movies Meta - every 5 days
Writing Sites Meta - every 5 days
Hopefully, Iāll be able to keep up with all this even if I still have plans to add to that list. Yep, Iāve got more blogs planned. Also still working on a few more themes, particularly for the Tumblr blogging platform :-).

Finally finished the Tumblr theme that I was working on. Am especially pleased about this one ācause I didnāt end up changing my mind about it halfway through finishing the theme. Surprising? Yeah, I know.
Did I talk about this before? I donāt really remember but, see, after finishing Mystic Summer and Weiss Zima, I was already thinking about the next Tumblr theme that I wanted to make. I was also thinking about changing the current theme on my Tumblr blogs.Ā
Iāve been using the Effector theme by Pixel Union, parts of which Iāve customized/modified to my liking, but I thought that it was time for a change since Iāve been using that theme for what felt like forever already.
So, I thought about having a full width theme with all the information that would have been located on the sidebar being placed on the header in a collapsing format. They would be placed a bit below the blog title in the form of icons. When you click on an icon, a box with the info in question shows up. So, for example, if you click on the About icon, you will see the blog description and avatar.
I was sort-of halfway through making that particular theme already when I had another idea. This time, I wanted a theme with an off-canvas sidebar. The burger menu icon will be in a fixed position so it will always remain visible even if you scroll down the page. When you click on this icon, the sidebar will show up. Click on the icon again and the open sidebar will close. Nice, right?
So I began working on this theme, setting aside the first one that I was working on. But, halfway through this theme, I had yet another idea. This time, I wanted a theme with a visible sidebar. But I didnāt want it to be like the sidebars on the Effector theme, Mystic Summer, Weiss Zima and all the other themes with this kind of sidebar.
I wanted a sidebar that was in a fixed position format. However, if thereās too much information on the sidebar, I wanted a scroll bar to show up. This scroll bar should only move the sidebar and not the main content of the blog. So there should be another scroll bar and this one would be for the main blog content.
So I set aside the other 2 themes to work on this one. I intended to finish those 2 later on when I was through with this one. I finally actually finished this one and, so far, I havenāt gotten new ideas yet. Well, okay, to be more precise, I did get a few ideas but, you know, it didnāt stop me from continuing to work on this theme. I just listed the new ideas down and decided that Iāll work on them later on.
The newly-finished theme is known as Rustelia. Will talk about it more later on. But, now that Iām done with the Rustelia Tumblr theme, I can now continue working on the other 2 themes that I set aside to work on this one. Hopefully, I can finish them both soon.
Mystic Summerās been approved by Tumblr Themes. You can now install it from the Theme Garden here: https://www.tumblr.com/theme/39915Ā . The demo blog is here:Ā http://mystic-summer.tumblr.com/Ā . Aside from sample posts and sample reblogged posts, itās also got a bunch of tutorials.Ā
Mystic Summerās free, responsive and mobile-friendly. Itās got an accordion sidebar and a modal search box as well as a fixed navbar and a 3-column footer. Itās got loads of customization options so you can change stuff like the colors and fonts. You can choose to hide or show stuff too depending on your preferences. For example, you can move the sidebar to the right or left or you can just hide it if you donāt want to display it.Ā
Mystic Summerās got fixed floating social media sharing buttons too (Google+, Pinterest, Facebook, and Twitter) as well as the Tumblr like and reblog buttons. Well, thereās a lot more to this theme than that so feel free to check it out, yeah? And if you have any questions, need any help, have feedback and comments, want to share your thoughts and opinions, etc, then please feel free to contact me.
Am currently working on another Tumblr theme now. Itās got an off-canvas and toggleable sidebar. Still not yet done with it though. Still have lots more stuff to add to it. Have added all sorts of options so far like being able to change the styles of the headings (you know like make it bold, underline, italic, or normal) as well as being able to choose and set the font family and font size.
Thereās also another theme that Iām working on. Itās a full-width theme with no sidebar but itās got a header which contains all the info that would have gone in the sidebar. This oneās got a lot and I mean a lot of color options. Itās like a rainbow theme although the main color scheme is supposed to be green.
Dunno which one Iāl finish soon but looking forward to finishing both themes so I can start working on creating even more themes. LOL :-).
The last time I talked about the Google Blogger blog that I was working on here, I mentioned feeling frustrated about the social media sharing buttons. Thatās all water under the bridge thoughĀ ācause, yep, you guessed it - managed to fix it all up and itās all a-okay now. Really super pleased about that, you know?
The social media sharing buttons are all exactly where I want them to be - on the fixed floating footer bar that only shows up when you scroll down a bit on the page.
After I was finally done with that, I focused my attention on the blog posts themselves. This part requires quite a bit of work so am not yet done with it but, itās going pretty well so far, so no complaints. LOL.Ā
You know how the posted date on Blogger blogs show up on top of the post titles? Yeah, I didnāt like that so moved the date to show up below the post title. I even added a clock icon (using Font Awesome, of course) beside it. I also moved the posted time (used to show up at the end of the post) beside the date so they both appear below the post title.Ā
I moved the post author below the post title too but I used a conditional tag so that it would only show up on the post permalink page. Still need to add a link to it as well as fix it up some more like changing the fonts and styles, etc. The same goes for the posted date and time but am just glad theyāre now where I wantĀ āem to be.
Havenāt touched the comments part yet but thatās ācause am actually planning to use the Disqus commenting system - which Iāve yet to add to my Blogger blog. Will get to do that soon, hopefully. Also added automatic read more codes and fixed up the read more link, transforming it into a button. I think it looks much nicer now than just having a plain link.
Also made sure that an image (if available) will show up on the homepage so you can see more than just the short snippet and read more link. I enlarged the image since I thought the thumbnails looked way too small. Initially, the enlarged pic looked way too big so just adjusted the size to something that seemed just right. Well, who knows? Maybe Iāll end up adjusting it all over again. LOL. For now, will just let it stay like that.Ā
I thought the zoom effect on hover was pretty cool too - you know, like you hover your mouse on a photo and then the photo zooms in and it sort of enlarges but still stays within its container? Yeah, that. I like that effect so added it to pics on the homepage. Well, still got a lot more stuff to fix but, so far, so good :-). Looking forward to finishing all these already.
Aww, man, I should really stop getting new ideas (LOL. Just kidding. Ideas are awesome) or at least make up my mind already so even if I get new ideas, itās okay. What am I talking about, you ask? Well, itās about my Tumblr theme.
I mean, I already said that I want to use a new theme for my blogs here and thatās true. I really want to. Initially, I thought Iād use Weiss Zima. But it doesnāt have the floating social media sharing buttons (if you notice, one of the modifications that I did to the Effector theme by Pixel Union was to add these buttons).
Mystic Summer has āem though. Itās even got this accordion sidebar, which I like plus a 3-column footer, which I also wanted so I can add text to the footer (like disclosures and disclaimers and stuff like that).
But then I started getting new ideas. I mean, I still like those 2 themes, kind of like how I still like the Effector theme but that doesnāt have to mean I want to use any of these 3 at the moment. And itās all because of these new ideas.
Iām really starting to like the no-sidebar look. You know, like those themes where the content is front, line and center because thereās nothing on the sides but blank white space? Yeah, donāt ask me where this idea came from because, dude, I like sidebars. Thatās why Zima and Summer come with sidebars and thatās why I chose the Effector theme. But, now, seemingly all of a sudden, I find that Iām no longer into sidebars.
Well, not only is it possible to move the Weiss Zima and Mystic Summer sidebars to the right and left, itās also possible to hide said sidebars. Problem solved, right? Wrong. The thing is, even though I donāt want to show the sidebar, I still find it useful and helpful. I still want the contents of the sidebar to be accessible even if itās not all the time.
Are you seeing where Iām going with this? Uh-huh. Yeah. Like I said, maybe I should really stop getting new ideas (LOL. Not happening any time soon) ācause, yup, I thought itād be totally awesome to have a togglable sidebar. You know, the kind where, if you click a button, a sidebar automatically shows up and then, when you click the button again, the sidebar is hidden. Doesnāt that sound totally awesome?
On top of that, I also started getting new ideas about the floating fixed social media sharing buttons. I mean, these icons being placed in a vertical position is perfectly fine but thatās only if weāre talking about big screens (like desktops, laptops, etc). But what about if weāre talking about mobile and smaller screens? Thereās hardly enough space there so even if you end up being able to display those buttons, itāll be a tight fit.
So, thatās why I thought what if the share buttons were in a horizontal position instead? I still wanted them to be fixed though. So my idea was that the buttons should be placed on this fixed footer bar. When the user scrolls down the page, this bar will automatically show up complete with the sharing buttons. Cool, right?
Now, I wanna get started on a new theme that incorporates all these ideas and more. Iāll probably end up coming up with more stuff to add, modify, edit, etc. LOL, but, hey, whatās new, right? Weāll see if I donāt change my mind all over again or something. LOL.

Weiss Zima: Free Theme Now Available In Tumblr Theme Garden
Remember this post? I talked about trying to submit a theme that I made to Tumblr and how something seemed to have gone wrong somehow since I couldnāt find a copy of the fact that I submitted said theme anywhere on my Tumblr account.Ā
I said that I planned to resubmit the theme again, thinking that maybe my initial submission hadnāt gone through. And, yeah, I did plan to do that. But, before doing so, I took new and (hopefully) better screenshots of how the theme looks. I even added some text to the screenshots to describe/talk about the features of the theme that Iād made.
Well, all I can say is that it was a good thing that it took me a day or 2 to get everything ready and that I didnāt try to resubmit the theme right away. Why? Itās cause I later got an email message from Tumblr saying that they approved the theme that Iād submitted and that it was now available for installation in the Tumblr Theme Garden.
Whoah! I was super surprised (totally an understatement, by the way. LOL) and super pleased :-). So it looks like I did manage to submit the theme properly. Nice, huh? At least I didnāt have to fill out the entire submission form all over again. I got the links to the theme and I went and replaced the screenshots with the new ones that Iād taken. Hopefully, the screenshots look better now. What do you think?
Oh, right - you can find the theme hereĀ https://www.tumblr.com/theme/39890. Itās called Weiss Zima and itās free, responsive and mobile-friendly. Itās got tons of features and customization options too. You can choose your own fonts and colors, add Disqus and Google Analytics, display your featured posts and tags and more (proper review to follow a bit later on). You can check out the demo blog here: http://weisszima.tumblr.com/.
Feel free to try it out and tell me what you think. Feedback, comments, etc are all greatly appreciated as Iād love to improve the theme and know what you/everyone thinks about it :-). If you have any questions too, feel free to ask and Iāll get back to you as soon as possible. In the meanwhile, Iāll be working on another Tumblr theme now :-).
Currently feeling rather very confused. In this post, I mentioned that I was working on a few Tumblr themes. Since Iād already finished one of those themes, I thought about submitting it to Tumblr here.
It took me quite a while to fill out the entire form since I had to upload pics and the submission form had specific requirements as to the size of the photos. When I finally finished filling out the entire form, I clicked on the āsubmit themeā button and it looked like it worked all was well something happened. But, now, Iām not so sure about that. Why?Ā
Itās cause I canāt find the submitted theme anywhere. Isnāt there some sort of link where I can go to so I can see the status of the submitted theme? The Tumblr theme submission guidelines here includes info about the approval status of your template. But it doesnāt say anything about where I can find or see this info.Ā
Does anyone know anything about this? Am super confused. I thought I was able to successfully submit this Tumblr theme. Maybe thatās not the case at all? Maybe, since I was taking so long to submit the theme (having to upload pics and fill out the rest of the form plus double-check it for errors and stuff), the session timed-out or something? Iām thinking that maybe I should try to submit the theme again.
Not really feeling up to it though. Why?Ā āCause, like I said above, the submission formās really kinda long. I can easily fill out the text part and thatās no problem at all. When it comes to all the necessary pics though - eh, the issue is that I hadnāt been able to save the pics that Iād uploaded when I first tried to submit this theme. :-(
Now, I really wish that I had saved a copy of those pics. I didnāt think this would happen. Guess I better start taking screenshots of my theme again, huh? I wonder whatās going? This is really kind of odd. Anyone know anything?
