courfeyrac/feuilly v. combeferre/grantaire (preeeetty sure you ship both of those or did at one point?)
I do!! They both make me very happy in their rareness because of their contrasts, but Iâll have to pick Courfeyrac/Feuilly because - oh, letâs be real, any Feuilly pairing will win out for me. Itâs just a very sweet idea and i can just see Courfeyrac being super affectionate towards Feuilly (who loves it because - affection, thatâs kinda new but bring it on he hasnât had enough in his life and totally deserves it) and they imo have pretty similar world views about helping folks. And they would both super be into each otherâs ideas! Yeah!
Courfeyrac and , either 41 (go back to sleep) or 65 (I'll help you study)? :D
Courfeyrac rises to consciousness to the steady swish of cars passing below his apartment window on rain-paved roads. He feels cold air settled atop his comforter, feather-light, but he feels none of its chill -- only that barest breath of its weight. He is up to his nose in blankets, and he curls himself even farther beneath them, exhaling contentedly when the fabric whispers over his skin.
âHm?â Feuilly croaks beside him. Courfeyrac used to hate how easy he was to wake, but now he just turns so he can pull himself into the crook of his boyfriendâs arm.
âGo back to sleep,â Courfeyrac murmurs, rubbing his hand along Feuillyâs collarbone.
âMm,â Feuilly relents, and Courfeyrac feels fingers fumble heavily into his hair before he sinks back down into silence.
Courfeyrac/Feuilly is such an excellent pairing. Itâs Quality, itâs Wholesome, thereâs something for everyone; itâs a Buy now and get a one-year subscription to a whole range of different feelings for FREE! type of deal.

Isnât it great? :D I miss talking about headcanons!
đ: A headcanon about one of my rarepairsÂ
Courfeyrac loves dragging Feuilly to all sorts of events and parties and other occasions - an Feuilly complains a bit, because really most of the time his first thought is âI could be spending my free time doing literally anything elseâ, but in the end they usually have a great time. For one thing, Courfeyrac likes spending time with Feuilly - and absolutely adores when one of Feuillyâs interests come up, even very briefly, just to see Feuillyâs eyes light up as he starts to talk about it. Someone usually ends up learning something, and if not, Feuilly has at least been distracted from his schedule for a few hours. And he wouldnât admit it, but Feuilly enjoys it, too. Itâs - refreshing. And fun. And he likes spending time with Courfeyrac, too.
đ: A headcanon that I wish more people would useÂ
Feuilly as Valjeanâs great nephew/nephew, depending on the timeline youâre working with. It can totally fit with canon, now for more drama and or fluff! not that this book needs it, but.
âŁď¸: A headcanon that I actually prefer over canonÂ
I know itâs not quite canon - at least probably not what Hugo intended, there might be discourse and meta about it I donât know - but Joly/Bossuet/Musichetta as a warm lovey-dovey poly relationship that goes in all directions. Itâs Necessary, okay.
âď¸: A headcanon that Iâm surprised more people donât shareÂ
For another fandom entirely: trans Adam Parrish. I read the first three books without even looking at fandom and it was so clear and obvious to me, itâs how I read it and I was so sure I wouldnât be the only one - imagine my surprise when I looked through Ao3 and saw exactly one fic. People tend to focus on Ronan (or even Gansey) a lot more with their gender headcanons, which I⌠donât really understand, and Iâll forever be dissapointed about it.

one of my favourite Courfeuilly tropes is Courfeyrac bringing Feuilly to a super fancy thing like a fundraiser buffet or something and itâs for a good cause I guess and they have such fun but mostly because they discover how much they enjoy each otherâs company.
Sometimes, falling in love is just realizing something that was true the whole time.
itâs a courfeuilly fic for @lesmisrarepairs week!! ^_^
(Is it bad to ask for the same ship you just asked me for? DON'T CARE. ;D) 13 or 20 for Courfeyrac and Feuilly? ^_^
(omg no it is not bad, I will never not want to write about this ship ^_^)
ââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââ
Heâs never been so scared in his life.
At first, it was only on the news; it was a big deal and it was going to change the world as they knew it, but it was all going down in distant countries, and then in big cities on the opposite coast. Â It wasnât here.
Then all of a sudden it was here, and they were running for their lives, dodging rotting corpses and panicked people. Â Driving through fields because the roads are choked with traffic and shamblers. Â Siphoning fuel from abandoned cars, eating cold beans from a can, sleeping in the back seat and in the trunk of the vehicle, each taking a shift to watch from the front seat while the other three sleep. Â The nights are so very dark without the street lamps, the sky full of more stars than Courfeyrac thought possible.
The last seven days have been hell. Â Courfeyracâs seen more people killed than he can countâmost of them already deadâand heâs even had to do the killing a few times. Â Heâs almost died more times than he can count. Â Heâs seen people eaten alive by dead things. Â And none of itâs stopping. Â None of itâs ever going to stop.
The fear finally takes over on the eighth day, as theyâre exploring the town they camped outside the night before. Â The place is tinyâa gas station and a couple of stores, nothing moreâand it appears to be deserted, at first glance. Â Still, Courfeyrac doesnât want to go in, wants to beg them to turn around and go back out onto the road, away from the houses. Â But the scratch on Jolyâs arm is red and hot to the touch, and thereâs a chance the convenience store might have neosporin. Â So in they go.
Thereâs a wreck in the main crossroads, so they stop the car and pick their way around the accident on foot. Â The silence is eerie as they walk across the street, broken glass crunching under their feet, the route back to the feeble safety of their car getting longer and longer. Â Somewhere down the road, a crow cries out, harsh and inhuman.
All of a sudden, Courfeyrac canât take it anymore. Â His knees buckle and he folds up on the weathered pavement, a hand clapped over his mouth to stifle the scream that wants to break out. Â His brain is a tangle of wailing sirens. Â Heâs certain that at any moment teeth will appear, just seconds from sinking into his skinâbut he canât lift up his head to look.
Fingertips brush his shoulder and he flinches away, whimpering. Â Someone catches him, fingers clenching his upper arms hard enough to bruise.
âWhatâs wrong?â Â Feuillyâs voice sounds distorted, like heâs at the far end of a tunnel. Â
Courfeyrac shakes his head, gasping for breath. Â Heâs going to scream, heâs going to be sick, heâs going to die. Â He canât do this he canât he canât he canât
A hand on the back of his neck. Â His forehead pressed into a rough jacket.
âIâve got you,â Feuilly says simply.
Courfeyrac is trembling, his stomach a knot of stabbing pain, his chest clenched so tight every convulsive heartbeat shakes his whole body. Â His hands scrabble at Feuillyâs jacket, reaching for something to hang on to. Â His breath catches in his throat and heâs going to die.
Feuillyâs fingers card through his hair, and in his ear, Feuillyâs voice is murmuring, âyouâre okay, youâre okay, Iâve got you.â Â
Something inside Courfeyrac cracks, and suddenly heâs crying, heaving sobs that he tries to stifle in his sleeve because heâs being too loud and theyâll come and as miserable as he is heâs still more terrified of them than any other feeling. Â But he canât stop crying either, because the world is falling apart, and heâs killed people, and he doesnât know what happened to Enjolras and Combeferre, and heâs so. fucking. scared.
âI canât do this,â he sobs into Feuillyâs jacket. Â âI canât, itâs too much.â Â He feels like a little kid, begging for something he knows he canât haveâwanting his stomach flu to go away, wanting Lucky back alive, wanting Mama to come back home. Â If only he were a little kid, and he could actually believe in hope.
âHey, Courf.â Â Feuilly pushes him up, hands gripping his shoulders. Â âHey, just look at me. Â Breathe. Â Iâve got you.â
He shakes his head. Â âI canât do this.â
âJust breathe,â Feuilly repeats. Â When Courfeyrac takes one shaky gasp of a breath, he smiles encouragingly. Â âGood. Â Another.â
Courfeyrac takes another breath, a little longer this time. Â Then a third.
âYouâre going to be okay,â Feuilly murmurs, his fingers kneading Courfeyracâs tight shoulder muscles. Â âYou can do this. Â Just keep breathing.â
âWhatâs going to happen to us?â Â His voice is ragged from crying, almost a whimper still. Â He doesnât have enough left to feel embarassed about it.
Feuilly shakes his head.  âOne day at a time.  We get through today, and then we think about tomorrow.  For now, just keep breathing.  Justâjust stay with us.â  A frown twitches his lips, and impulsively, he pulls Courfeyrac back against his jacket.  âWe ⌠we need you, Courf.  Stay with us.â
Courfeyrac, his nose full of the smell of blood and smoke and Feuillyâs sweat, nods shakily. Â âIâll try.â
