I think it says a lot about Martin and his relationship to violence based on his reactions to these things.

I know I’ve recently seen a post talking about how Martin doesn’t really care too much about Helen’s own victims because he’s never interacted with them and him and Helen are on vaguely friendly term and i absolutely agree.

Martin is accepting of death and violence if it isn’t something he himself has witnessed.

Although i don’t necessarily think Martin is an avatar, he absolutely has a bit of separation between humanity as a whole and the bubble he’s lived in for the past like 3-4 years of being in the archives.

It’s another interesting point how Martin does this to people in his own domain as well. For a portion of season 5 he just.. kinda ignores and willfully forgets he has a domain because he cannot handle the idea of harming people the same way he fought about. It only hits him when he’s in his own domain.

It’s also very yummy how he has taken pride in others suffering if he thinks they deserve it. (Which is where i think some of his Eye tendencies come in but i digress.)

Adjusting to being Normal People would be soo strange for Martin and Jon that at that point they might not even be sure how to be normal ever again after all they’ve faced.

I need them to fight because they’re both traumatized and they’ve never actually done normal couple life. They don’t know how to adjust.

On top of the whiplash they had betrayed each other. They both went against each others wishes and along with all the love in their hearts for each other they’re angry because they promised.

He had no way of knowing prentiss was texting Jon. To him, all he knew is he wasn’t even important enough to check on. No one was coming to save him.

Im also always thinking about how while yes he was targeted because he found jane, i also think it was because he was the only archival assistant no one would check for, not really anyway. Not much. Not hard.

He spent his entire life isolated and feeling alone and his first supernatural encounter was entirely based on her seeing that isolation, trapping him, and preying on it to get him to join her until she got bored of him.
