tbh i should go back and review what we chat a bit over (either that or i could wait for you to solidify any DNA details for sl's au!) BUT if we're going off with sl being part of the alchemists at icelake whatsoever then this is the big drama bomb we can always have in our reach. percy (following his ambitions) signs up for war and ends up in the labs as an experiment, SL (following hers) signs up to study alchemy and ends up in the labs as an operator. they can be either friends or just strangers who've maybe seen one another here and there; whatever the beginning basis, it becomes lily's job to perform the biological operations (so, cutting out parsifal's heart, administering the suppression serum, bodily grafting, monitoring his levels, etc,) while parsifal drifts in and out of consciousness. the conflict's when percy starts realizing all the horror he's being put through and starts begging SL for something different. this means stopping (she shouldn't for her ambitions' sake,) reversing everything, (can't! canon implies it's not possible/outright says it's literally unnecessary!) or, more extreme, ultimately helping him escape despite (or perhaps even while) having successfully (and if it's sl, meticulously,) operated on him to the point of fully becoming 'a beast.' whatever vibe you want or think suits sl best is something i'm happy to work with but this general dotted line has the sort of fun conflict n stuff that i trust you with.

ok all of that ^^^ is its own separate au but for both sl's regular cookie and fairy verse i do like what they've more or less established rn as, at base, platonic friends. i think in general with percy constantly feeling like he's betrayed the noble unicorn that seeing any variation of sl from these kinds of groupings give him a huge breath of fresh air. he has more space to behave more innocently as he used to and his hope and wonder springs back out from any black depths. this isn't to say that he'd have a wholly positive-pedestal deluded idea of her, because once he starts learning sl bg (if not CR overall) lore he might stagger a bit, but when it comes to anyone he's already decided a 'friend' (with or without admitting it,) he also ends up swearing total devotion to and gripping their realities twice as firmer. he knows that sl has some things she wants, if not needs (<-- he'd refute this) to do by herself; he'd offer himself as a beast to remove all obstacle, and if not much then he'll be waiting for her various returns so they could once more share in conversation. smth smth he's passing by lilies at icelake's flower shop and when he looks up at the night sky which used to fill him with howling dread he sees the stars and thinks of sl's wings and/or sprinkles glimmer.
