Yo, sooo… I think I discovered a rare pair ship… Ashrah x Kai
For some reason it makes sense in my head😭
I needed a moment to think about them when I first saw this ask and now that I have....I can see it!
Kai, in the original timeline at least, wanders the realms in search of enlightenment, while Ashrah does the same, but for purification/redemption. In a sense, they're both on a journey for the meaning of life, with Kai searching for his, and Ashrah having found hers and now working towards it.
Maybe on their seperate journeys they somehow cross paths and get to know each other, and it just progresses from there. I see these two as a ship on the fluffier side (outside of Ashrah's past with the Netherrealm, then it's more-so hurt/comfort), what with their goals and perspectives and all. Probably a good old fashioned strangers to friends to lovers, which I'm always up for.
If we're talking about the newest timeline where Kai is a teacher at the Wu Shi, they still have a good dynamic. With how much he gets mentioned in her intro dialogues, it sounds like he has a good, if not close, relationship with Ashrah. It's the mentor/mentee trope, which usually I don't care for, but these two could make it very cute. Kai welcomes Ashrah to the Wu Shi, and Earthrealm, with open arms, teaching her not only fighting techniques and the Shaolin monks ways of life, but about Earthrealm in general. Assuming he still originates from America like in his past appearance, he wouldn't have a more closed off view of the world like other monks who've spent their entire lives with the Shaolin, and could share plenty of stories with Ashrah.
And Ashrah could maybe do the same! They won't be nearly as lighthearted, but she could teach him about the ways of the Netherrealm, what life was like there. Kai strikes me as a very curious but sympathetic guy. He'll want to hear all about what she has to say, but he won't hesitate to comfort her when it comes to harder times.
Through sharing stories like these they could bond outside of their teaching sessions, and become good friends. Just like their past appearance, they've got the strangers to friends to lovers trope, and they make it extremely cute!
I feel they understand each other even on a deeper level. Granted, I'm just making this up, but in my eyes, MK1 Kai had the same journey of searching for enlightenment across the realms like his past iteration did, he just did so when he was younger. Now he's older and wiser. Maybe he never even found the answer, but he's content with his life among the monks now.
And when he's with Ashrah, he feels he's closer than ever before to seeing what he thought he'd never be able to. She really opens his eyes to new perspectives, and he loves that.
As for Ashrah, she feels like she finally has a place she can call home when she's with Kai. Don't get her wrong, the entire Wu Shi is her home now, but she only feels truly understood when with him. He knows what its like to go on what feels like a neverending journey, searching for something he may never even be able to reach. He's someone she can relate to, even if only a little. Which I doubt she'd ever expect to find.
Idk. Maybe I'm just rambling and this makes no sense. I'm not the best with words, and I feel it very much shows towards the end there, but I wanted to get my thoughts out (๑•﹏•)⋆* ⁑⋆* I hope this is coherent. And thanks for the ask, anon! I love thinking about something I'd never considered before, even if its just a ship.
Geissele MK4 Federal Contract Handguard
The Geissele Mk4 Federal Handguard is one of the most recognizable free-float rail systems ever produced for the AR-15 platform. Originally designed to fulfill a Federal Bureau of Investigation contract requirement, the Mk4 Federal quickly became popular among military clone builders, law enforcement users, and civilian shooters who wanted a rugged and highly modular handguard with a distinctive appearance. Its combination of integrated Picatinny rail sections and modern M-LOK compatibility helped it stand apart from many competing rails on the market.
The handguard is manufactured from high-grade aluminum, most commonly cited as either 7000-series aluminum or 6061-T6 aluminum depending on the production run and source documentation. Regardless of the exact alloy designation, Geissele designed the rail to prioritize rigidity, impact resistance, and long-term durability. The surface is protected with a Type III hardcoat anodized finish, which significantly improves wear resistance and corrosion protection. Some versions are also available in specialty coatings such as OD Green and Desert Dirt Color, both of which became especially desirable among FBI HRT clone enthusiasts.
Dimensionally, the Mk4 Federal is primarily known for its 10-inch configuration. The rail has an overall height of approximately 2.3 inches, an outer diameter of roughly 2.11 inches, and an inner diameter of around 1.35 inches. Weight varies slightly depending on whether the barrel nut is included, but the rail itself generally weighs about 10.2 ounces and approximately 11.8 ounces with mounting hardware installed. These measurements place it in a practical middle ground between ultra-light competition rails and heavier quad-rail systems.
One of the defining characteristics of the Mk4 Federal is its versatility. Unlike traditional quad rails that feature Picatinny rails across the entire handguard, the Mk4 Federal combines selective integrated Picatinny sections with M-LOK attachment points. It includes fixed M1913 rail sections at the front 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions while maintaining M-LOK slots along the remaining surfaces and upper 45-degree quadrants. This arrangement allows users to mount accessories such as weapon lights, laser aiming devices, vertical grips, pressure pads, bipods, and sling attachments without adding unnecessary weight. The elongated lower Picatinny section on later “Federal” variants became particularly useful for shooters running foregrips or hand stops in forward positions.
Durability is where the Mk4 Federal has earned much of its reputation. Geissele engineered the rail for hard-use professional environments, and its adoption for FBI contract rifles contributed heavily to its status. The free-float design improves barrel harmonics and accuracy potential while also creating a rigid platform capable of holding zero for aiming lasers and optics. The proprietary barrel nut mounting system provides a strong lockup between the upper receiver and rail, reducing movement under recoil or rough handling. Users consistently praise the handguard for its solid feel and resistance to flexing, especially compared to thinner lightweight rails.
Heat management was also considered in the design. Extensive venting cuts along the handguard help reduce overall weight while improving airflow around the barrel. This allows the rail to dissipate heat more effectively during extended firing sessions. Although the rail is not the lightest M-LOK option available today, many shooters consider the extra weight worthwhile because of the increased structural rigidity and integrated mounting surfaces.
Another interesting aspect of the Mk4 Federal is the existence of different generations and configurations. Early “Gen 1” versions featured a shorter lower Picatinny section, while later “Gen 2” models incorporated the longer bottom rail that most shooters associate with the FBI pattern. Enthusiasts in the AR-15 clone community often seek out specific generations for authenticity, and some discontinued variants have become highly collectible. Discussions within enthusiast communities frequently mention the unique 10-inch length and the rail’s compatibility with 10.3-inch and 11.5-inch barrel setups, making it especially popular for compact rifles and short-barreled rifle configurations.
In terms of value, the Mk4 Federal occupies the premium end of the AR-15 handguard market. Retail pricing generally falls between the mid-$300 and mid-$500 range depending on finish, availability, and collector demand. While less expensive rails exist, many shooters view the Geissele as a worthwhile investment because of its proven durability, professional pedigree, and strong resale value. Clone-correct FBI configurations in OD Green often command especially high prices on the secondary market. For users who prioritize reliability, rigidity, and long-term performance over minimal weight or low cost, the Mk4 Federal remains one of the most respected free-float handguards available.

Howdy.
This account exists in the world of tumblr now because I want to write fanfiction and not be associated with it because my writing is bound to cause erectile dysfunction, nausea, diarrhea, constipation, sand in your ass crack, homosexuality, anal fisting, and grass touching deficiency which I am NOT prepared to handle medically speaking.
I currently have a long-winded Mortal Kombat crack fic (heavy on the crack) in the works so if you like Mortal Kombat and the cheesy-so-bad-it's-good dialogue from MK 4, be aware that I do exist. Things are happening. I am powerless to stop it.
The Spiritus System Mk4 Placard
The Spiritus Systems Micro Fight Chassis Mk4 placard is a compact and modular load-bearing platform designed for tactical gear organization and rapid mission adaptability. Produced by Spiritus Systems, the Mk4 is part of the company’s Micro Fight line and is intended to serve either as a stand-alone chest rig foundation or as a detachable placard mounted to a plate carrier. The system emphasizes flexibility, minimal bulk, and efficient equipment carriage while allowing users to customize the configuration depending on mission requirements or personal preference.
The overall physical dimensions of the Mk4 placard contribute significantly to its compact design and practical functionality. The chassis measures approximately 10 inches wide, 5 inches tall, and around 2 inches deep depending on how it is configured and what inserts are installed. These measurements allow the placard to sit comfortably across the front of the user’s chest without interfering with mobility or weapon handling. The back of the placard includes a hook-and-loop mounting surface that is roughly 5 by 9 inches, allowing it to attach securely to compatible plate carriers equipped with loop panels. This mounting interface is designed for quick attachment and removal, which means the user can swap placards or adjust their loadout without needing to remove the entire armor carrier.
The Mk4 placard is constructed primarily from 500 denier Cordura nylon along with other military specification materials. Cordura nylon is widely used in tactical equipment because it offers an excellent balance between strength, abrasion resistance, and weight savings. Compared with heavier fabrics such as 1000 denier nylon, 500 denier Cordura still maintains strong tear resistance while keeping the overall system lighter and more comfortable for extended wear. The chassis also incorporates heavy-duty nylon webbing, reinforced stitching, and durable hook-and-loop fasteners. These materials ensure the placard can withstand repeated field use, rough handling, and environmental exposure such as dust, moisture, and friction from body armor or equipment.
One of the most important aspects of the Mk4 placard is its versatility. The chassis contains two internal storage compartments lined with loop material, allowing users to install different hook-backed inserts. These inserts are designed to organize and secure a wide variety of equipment including rifle magazines, pistol magazines, medical supplies, radios, or small tools. For example, the system can be configured to hold three 5.56 rifle magazines, two larger 7.62 magazines, or several pistol magazines depending on the insert combination used. Because the inserts are removable, users can quickly adapt the placard to different weapon systems or mission types without purchasing an entirely new rig.
In addition to the internal inserts, the Mk4 platform is designed to integrate with numerous accessories. Side wings can be added to expand magazine capacity or provide storage for radios and other gear. Sub-abdominal pouches can attach to the bottom of the chassis for additional storage space, while elastic retention systems allow for tourniquet or medical equipment placement. The front of the placard also includes a loop field that allows for identification patches or additional small pouches. This ecosystem of accessories allows the Mk4 to function as a central hub for modular equipment organization.
Another significant feature of the Mk4 is its ability to operate in multiple configurations. When paired with shoulder straps and a back strap, it functions as a lightweight chest rig capable of carrying essential equipment without body armor. This configuration is commonly used for training, reconnaissance, or situations where armor may not be required. Alternatively, the side buckles and rear hook panel allow the Mk4 to attach directly to compatible plate carriers. In this configuration it acts as a front placard, enabling the user to expand their armor setup while still maintaining the ability to detach the system quickly.
Durability is a major factor in the Mk4’s reputation within the tactical gear community. The reinforced seams and high-quality materials allow the chassis to maintain structural integrity even when carrying fully loaded magazines or heavy accessories. The Cordura fabric resists abrasion from repeated contact with gear, while the stitching prevents stress points from failing during movement or prolonged use. These design choices ensure the placard remains reliable in demanding environments such as field exercises, training ranges, or operational deployments.
From a value perspective, the Mk4 placard provides a modular and scalable system that can adapt to different operational needs over time. While the base chassis is relatively affordable compared to larger chest rigs, users can gradually expand the system with inserts and accessories as needed. This modular approach allows individuals to build a customized loadout without investing in entirely new equipment whenever their requirements change. Because of its durability, adaptability, and compatibility with modern plate carrier systems, the Spiritus Systems Mk4 placard has become widely adopted by military personnel, law enforcement officers, and civilian shooters seeking a lightweight yet highly configurable gear platform.
