Scott being literally from the middle ages is wild(in the case that Vampires takes place around the Victorian era in the 1800s). Any time before the Renaissance swimming was either done in underwear or entirely nude. So the only reason Scott is wearing clothes in this is because the others forced him to lol.

On a similar note, that places Owen in the 1600s, which is during the Renaissance. Fun fact about that, they didn't like swimming at all!! Or at least it was "highly discouraged" and "of doubtful morality", so the guy has decided to sit on the side for this one. Not that i think Owen would actually care about those social morals, but he doesn't strike me as one who like water in general so.
