Well, that was a waste of time. Here’s shots of the Sony Media Recovery progress. Yes it works for restoring deleted files. It does not fix AVCHD files that are corrupt. 1 hour for this and back where I started. First screenshot is a model and serial of a Sony memory card so you can download this software if you need it.
