My Adata HD330 2TB External Hard Disk Drive Review (with my Paper Dolls) - Part 2 [May 11, 2022]
Hello! This is Part 2 of my new item review, the Adata HD330 External Hard Disk Drive (with my paper dolls).😁
In this part, I'm going to show ya my comparison between my recent external hard drive (on the left) & my old broken one (on the right) is my Western Digital My Passport Essential 500GB.
But before that: I would like to apologize for the long delay. My parents are busying extending our house to make more space 🏠🔨, plus the voting election in my country 🇵🇭🗳️, and of course... Umm... I felt emotional & depressed. The latter was the concern of my 160GB (3.5 inch) hard disk drive's life that was on the line 😟 because I made a dumb decision when I disassemble it & see what's the problem via following instructions without my knowledge about the hard disk drive. That 160GB HDD contains my artworks 🎨🖌️, photos 🖼️ & other files 📁 that are my precious memories from 2016 & beyond, and I can't retrieve them anymore. So, I REALLY NEED to find a good professional disk recovery store to save my files, but it'll be very expensive to pay & I don't have enough money. I guess, I DO REALLY NEED a job to earn my profits. *sigh* Without my precious files, there will be no... ME. And my life will be a downward spiral of depression.😔
Anyway, back to my topic... If you haven't seen my previous part, then please [CLICK ME!].
So, without further ado, let's get started:
1st & 2nd Image(s) ↑:
• [1st Image] As I said in my intro, you're looking at my two external hard disk drives. Despite the design & look, my Adata HD330 is taller than my old WD (short for Western Digital).
• [2nd Image] Another thing was the HD330 had shock & drop proof with built-in silicon case around the plastic shell case & also the interior 2.5 inch HDD, though I still need to buy a rugged hard case for extra protection. Whereas my old WD My Password Essential has nothing but four rubber pads on the back.
Little story 📖: My former BF actually purchased this Western Digital external HDD at the local tech store for me as a token of our friendship, and I was very surprised back then when I was in my high school days. *Sigh* 😌 Memories, I would never forget that moment.
3rd to 6th Image(s) ↑:
• Here are their side to side comparison, sandwich style.
• [5th Image (left)] On my old WD external hard drive, you may notice that there's a tiny hole on the left side. That's the light indicator when plugging the Micro-B USB port through the computer via cable.
• [6th Image (right)] And speaking of ports, both Adata HD330 & (old) WD My Passport Essential are sporting USB Micro-B 3.0 port. Well, actually 3.2 gen 1 port for the Adata HD330, meaning it's far superior port than the old 3.0 variant. (Well, I think) It'll be awesome if the HD330 will be sporting the USB type C cable for a modern look & less hassle plugging than the irreversible USB Micro-B. (Just suggesting)
7th & 8th Image(s) ↑:
• [7th Image] Finally, their USB Micro-B 3.0 cables. On the left is from Adata HD330 & on the right is from WD My Passport Essential, which shows up aging from rust on the USB type-A male, but the male Micro-B was surprisingly quite intact & shine.
• [8th Image] On top of that, the old USB Micro-B cable 3.0 is longer than Adata's short-length cable. Also, that cable strap remains wrapped around, to this day.
9th & 10th Image(s) ↑ [without flash for no. 10th]:
• My paper dolls said that these two external HDs are both blue! 💙Well yeah, of course not because I love blue, duh.😊 One is brand new & the other was very old, due to the signing age of fading WD logo on the front, scratch surface, etc. Not to mention not very functional, and hoping it will revive my old one (hoping my old files remain intact without a single corrupt), anytime soon. As soon as I want the 160GB hard drive will be an attempt to save it first (if possible).🤞😟
Overall:
• Well, nothing new. But, I would say it was a pretty good short comparison between my two existing portable/external HD (not High Definition) or HDD. 🙂👍
• Right now, I have nothing to transfer my files for my next & final part. 😟 So, I'm not sure if I could finish this topic this month (May) or not. But, here's hoping that I will find the way while my 160GB HD is putting in rest mode.
Well, that’s all for now. If you want to see my previous topic from March, as well as my current topic from April, then I’ll provide some links down below.↓😉

My Adata HD330 2TB External Hard Disk Drive Review (with my Paper Dolls) - Part 1 [Apr 12, 2022]
Hello! This is Part 1 of my new item review, the Adata HD330 External Hard Disk Drive (with my paper dolls).😁
Yup, that's right! Looks like I need a fresh new external hard disk drive to store all of my important files 📁 such as photos 🖼️(that I took from my "broken" Samsung Galaxy S4 & my recent smartphone the Honor 8C), games 🎮, documents 📄, videos 🎦 (recorded from my two aforementioned phones), and even my artworks from my past & present 🎨🖌️.
So, without further ado, let's get started:
1st to 4th Image(s)↑:
• [1st & 2nd Images] First off, here's the packaging itself. I picked the 2TB (terabyte) variant because I need more space for my future files. I'll explain it in the overall thoughts.
• [3rd Image] On the back, you could see more info about the Adata HD330. This external HD uses USB 3.2 1st gen to improve transfer speeds when plugging USB 3.2 / 3.0 port, plus it can support 2.0 as backward compatible, though the speed rates may differ.
• [4th Image] On the other side of the box, the HD330 advertise as a durable portable hard drive (despite they put "Shock Resistance") that can withstand bumps, knocks, and drops. Though I'm not sure if this external hard drive can also protect tight items inside without using a hardshell case. (looks like I'll buy a hardshell case for my external hard drive, soon.) Other features such as "Shock Sensor" to detect physical shock & cease transfer/reading files, and finally data protection using "AES 256-bit Encryption" to prevent prying. However, it requires Adata's own "Backup ToGo software" on Windows PC or Apple Mac.
5th to 8th Image(s) ↑:
• [5th & 6th Images] Now with that information & features out of the way, let's reveal the actual item itself! Wow, my new external HD is pretty cool in all blue rugged glory. My paper dolls agree on it, but they want a different color.😅
• [7th & 8th Images] (Removing plastic case & plastic sticker) Along with HD330 external hard drive, other accessories including USB 3.1 Micro-B Cable & instruction manual.
9th & 10th Image(s) ↑:
• And for those who are curious about what Micro-B looks like, here's a close-up.
Fun fact: Both Samsung Galaxy S5📱[CLICK ME!] & Galaxy Note 3 📱[CLICK ME!] are the only smartphones that possess a USB 3.0 Micro-B port instead of the standard USB Micro-B 2.0. The latter was first built-in before the Galaxy S5 was released the following year.
Overall & Price:
• Owning a portable/external hard drive w/ a huge portion of memory space is something that we need to store our precious files. There are tons of brands that offer good quality & certified 100% file protection, and this Adata brand that I order is one of them. Also, keep an eye out for fake/counterfeit brands & don't trust them at all, your wallet earning is not worth it, trust me.
• Now, what about the price? The original price of the Adata HD330 is 🏷️₱ 3,290 (free shipping included) from an authorized Lazada PH seller 🇵🇭🌐🛒 [CLICK ME!]. And that's the 2TB variant. However, I bought it for a discounted price of ₱2,549 using numerous discounted vouchers & free shipping during their 10th anniversary birthday sale. That's ₱700+ off saving!🆓🛒😁
• The Adata HD330 is available in three colors: Red 🔴, Black ⚫ & Blue 🔵 (my choice). As for memory size, the aforementioned portable hard drive is also available in 1TB, 4TB, and their most expensive the 5TB. The price may differ based on their authorized store, both physical & online.
BTW: For more information about the Adata HD330, please [CLICK ME!].
Anyways, in my next part, I'll be doing the anatomy of my new portable hard drive as well as a comparison w/ my old one, before I move on to plug in the test. Although I don't remember where I put it, so I'll see you in my next part.🙂
As for my broken PC 🖥️🔧? Well, this might take a while until next week. 😟 Because this week is "Holy Week", meaning the fixing progress is "On-hold". In the meantime, I'm borrowing my big brother's laptop to continue my web journey (pun intended).👦💻

My Adata HD330 2TB External Hard Disk Drive Review (with my Paper Dolls & Recorded Video) - Part 3 (Final) [May 18, 2022]
Hello! This is the final part (or Part 3) of my new item review, the Adata HD330 External Hard Disk Drive (with my paper dolls).😁
For my final part, I'm now attempting to plug in my new Hard Disk, as well as transfer file test using my two Ugreen USB extensions from my windows 10 PC. 🙂📁🖥️
I haven't done anything or reviewed my Ugreen USB Extension Hub 3.0 since July of 2021, so I might consider it as part of my test in my external hard disk review.
"My UGREEN USB Extensions: USB Hub - USB 3.0 variant Review - Part 4 [May 18, 2022]"
Uh yeah, speaking of, if you haven't seen my previous part & Part 3 of my UGREEN USB extensions, then I'll provide these links down below.↓😉
• My Adata HD330 2TB External Hard Disk Drive Review (with my Paper Dolls) - Part 2 [May 11, 2022]
• My UGREEN USB Extensions: USB Hub - USB 3.0 variant Review - Part 3 [July 24, 2021]
So, without further ado, let's get started:
My Recorded Video 🎦📲↑:
• Okay so, here I am doing my first time plugging my Adata HD330 external hard drive through my Ugreen USB Hub 3.0, but before that, I need to plug that micro USB port w/ my Huawei USB charger (already plugged from the electric socket) for an extra energy boost. This is something that we need when it comes to the requirement of energy for external hard drives 🔌⚡ (2.5 inch slim & 3.5 inch big variants) Though It'll be better if it's a USB Type-C port instead of the old micro USB port.
1st & 2nd Image(s) ↑:
• I also have snapshots to prove, and my paper dolls are intrigue to see.🙂
• Anyways, once I plugged my external HD it appears on my PC. You could see that I have 1.81 TB of free space storage. Now, you may ask, why is it only 1.81 TB when it's not 2TB? As I said before in my previous year, not all hard drives, solid-state drives, memory cards (either micro-SD or SD cards), or even flash thumb drives have the exact memory space. Because, the manufacturers behind it are using 🔢"International System of Units"💽 to convention when labeling their memory space capacities, depending on what size you've bought from either physical or online computer/gadget store, of course. Plus, they have decimal-based, so a 1.8 TB is equal to 2TB storage. Furthermore, some say that decreasing memory requires a system operation to function the memory device, but it is proven to be false (sort of). While others say is quite misleading & confusing to other users (including myself). But, in the end, no one is to blame. We may never know, but all I can say is, that it is what it is. I got what it paid for, so I have no problem with that.
• Okay, moving on, let's go to my file transfer test. I got mine right here, this file contains 52 videos in one folder, and it's a total of 18 GB in size. That should be perfect for my transferring test. Once I clicked copy file I'm not going to my external hard drive & paste it. And as you can see, the transfer speed rate dipped to 30+ MB/s, but it high quickly to 60+ MB/s, afterward. I know, it's a standard speed rate for USB 3.0 ports.
1st & 2nd Screenshot(s) ↑:
• It took me about 5 to 6 minutes before it was complete. During which [please see my 1st screenshot], it dipped down to 30 MB/s or less 🤷. Mmmm, I would say it's pretty normal though.
3rd & 4th Image(s) ↑:
• One thing I've encountered was my external hard drive indicating red light (blinking), meaning an error disk when I unplugged the micro USB cord from my USB hub 3.0, causing it unable to process/read files & insufficient power.😦
5th & 6th Image(s) ↑:
• However, when I plugged my other USB extension cord of the same brand (Ugreen) it doesn't require extra power. Which works just fine & it reads well. And look at it, my paper dolls are so impressed (and so am I 🙂👍) that they want to watch a tv kids' show. Unfortunately, I don't have the entire episode of "Chowder" (their favorite tv series show). 😅
3rd & 4th Screenshots [edited & combined] ↑:
• Finally, I'm attempting a little partition using "Disk Management" so I can divide it into two partition drives instead of one. They're not exact 1 TB storage space, but it doesn't matter for me. 🙂
Overall (& final verdict):
• Like all external HDD brands, the Adata HD330 is a pretty normal external hard disk drive, with USB 3.1 gen 1 (or 3.0). Sure, the transfer speed rate is quite a normal standard & the storage space is an understatement, but, I only paid for the extra storage/backup to prevent lost files. And I'm satisfied. Now, I haven't tested the USB 2.0, but, I have a funny feeling that plugging USB 2.0 into my external hard drive will be less speed rate than the 3.0 or 3.1, so I would not attempt or test it. If only my 3.5-inch 160GB hard drive is still functional, then I'll transfer all of it to my new external hard drive. But then again, only time will tell if my files are still intact after my irreversible wrongdoings 😟. Right now, my bulky hard drive is still on life support, and I try my best to earn hard by doing task jobs before I present it to the disk recovery store.
• As for my Ugreen USB Hub 3.0, the power port support delivers quite well, when I plugged my external hard drive. I have a ton of ideas for my Ugreen USB hub, but, it'll be impossible to do so. If I have plenty of free time, then sure, I would like to see if my honor 8C phone supports a USB hub via OTG, or can carry two external hard drives w/ power port support through my PC. Who knows. More things to come, so coming soon.😉
Well, that’s the end of my topic! (for my Adata HD330)
