So!

Even if he's a Diamond, he's still partially human. So he's still gonna get hurt.

Although it's rare, it's still bound to happen if he isn't careful. If anything, it's most likely to happen during his tantrums if he's not careful with his swings. Bones rarely break, but skin is definitely gonna tear on sharp objects and bruise on impact.

And while he does have the ability to heal himself still, He doesn't try to. One because he doesn't like the idea of kissing himself or shedding tears in front of other gems, and two, it gives him a chance to relive a simpler time, before the responsibilities, expectations and knowledge of the Gem.

It also gives him an excuse to keep Fluffy around his court longer; she's often used for tasks of either training, patrolling or transporting heavy materials all over the empire, thus she hardly sees him. He doesn't outright say it, but he thinks the Diamonds keep her away from his court on purpose.

They say he shouldn't be "distracted" and there's other "more suitable" gems, especially his own pearl to cater to him, but regardless of how they spin it, there will never be a gem like Fluffy to him.

There's no gem on homeworld that would go through the effort to make the zoo-man fruit into different snacks or dishes or make a sweet tea that settled him down from nearly any range of stress he got. Not even the pebbles could even make or suggest the furniture and items she does to bring him comfort.

But no matter what, Fluffy was a "useful beast" in the empire. Nothing more. And if she is to stay unbubbled she must be making herself useful around the empire by all means at all times.

So, he opted to just make use of that logic and. By giving her a duty to fulfill and giving him just a little more time with her.

Besides, if he shows just how valuable she is, she'll be allowed some leniency.

After all, who could scorn a gem so devoted to her diamond?

Note: in this AU, he's only known for the "negative" diamond powers. He withholds his healing ability because if the Diamonds caught wind of it, they'll stop sending Fluffy to tend to his wounds, seeing how it would be a waste of time.

Note 2: Fluffy can't outright buy medicine for obvious reasons, and the only times she can get proper equipment is from snagging supplies of poachers. So she opted to teach herself to make salves and tea from the herbs and leaves of Earth. And this also gives it value; thus the Diamonds don't see a reason to destroy it. (for now.)

Oh, and yeah, I kinda designed that pearl on the spot since;

I wouldn't expect White to give up "her own" Pearl [back] to him so easily.

They needed a gem more befitting to serve him rather than the hairy corruption they were forced to deal with.

Before ya say anything; yes, i know she looks a bit cursed, but I got my reasons. For one, she's a slew of things slapped together, with a horror movie thrown in for good measure. On top of that, she somewhat breaks a few other "SU rules" but there's no fun in being a stickler.

Infodump/lore coming at ya;

So, to start off; let's just say that maybe a few weeks or even days after her corruption, she came across a baby animal that was hurt and it allowed her maternal instinct to flare and grow a lot quicker, thus she didn't feel a need to venture out of her woodland area to cure her boredom.

And as such, she keeps assisting animals, ranging from smaller easier creatures like birds, rodents and other woodland critters, gradually working her way up to larger animals like deer, goats, wolves and even mountain lions and bears. Being the resourceful bean she is, she quickly learns their ways of survival and begins to slowly adapt to her new environment. Each time she poofs, her body changes. And every time, animals sit vigil awaiting her return.

With her helping all the animals equally, she gains a sort of respect from them and they gradually view her as a leader. Having bonded with animals, she feels a need to protect them thus humans, mostly poachers and hunters are on her blacklist. For the most part, she doesn't want to hurt them for some odd reason, but she does break their weapons and have her animal friends scare them off.

From then it becomes clear that hunting is off limits in the Delmerva forest, and I'd think Ronaldo would make a big stink, calling her a "Forest Guardian." While initially a foolish notion, the evidence and testimonials from former hunters stacked in his favor, and thus everyone started leaving her offerings to "appease" her and allow access.

She's fine and accepts the offerings, but she really just wants to keep the forest safe.

On to the design choices. Why?

Well, for starters, her design is somewhat based on most woodland based legends and myths, with her uncanny appearance loosely based on The Moder from horror movie "The Ritual." Only, unlike The Moder, she doesn't force anyone into a cult and cares about the well-being of other creatures.

Every time she poofed, it was to benefit to her environment somewhat, as shown in the picture above.

And what about the green stuff all over her and the hand vines??

Simple; this is where the logic truly breaks; that right there is Rose's moss; she somehow fused with it. How, I don't know, maybe she ate some, laid in it or what have you, but now it's become a part of her; and thus she can grow plants and flowers on herself at will. And while it's not official; I read that invisible monster from the Island episode was responsible for the fish and bait, since they looked so similar to her Uncorrupt design.

Regardless, I'm taking it. She can grow fruit on her tree; apples by default, but since she's a reader character, the fruit can vary in kind.

As for her behavior; she's much more lucid, kind of like Lion; he's aware of things but a bit more animal-like in behavior. She's also relatively quiet. I'm debating whether or not to have her know to speak English or Gem Gylph.

How she meets og Steven, I'm calibrating; on one hand he could stumble across her during his venture with Onion or maybe it was a mission.
