“Have you ever thought about training your powers again?” the General asked, glancing up at Lex from the other side of the small campfire.

“No,” Lex continued to stare into flickering lights of the fire, running her hand through Hannah’s hair who was curled up in her lap.

The General didn’t bring the idea up again for the rest of the night.

Lex woke up suddenly by the sound of a sharp scream cut off after a moment. She jumped up almost immediately trying to shake the sleep out of her mind. Glancing over she saw that the General had risen to his feet, staring into some point far off in the forest. Hannah was sitting on a small fallen log the glint of the embers of the dying fires reflected in her wide eyes.

The General gestured for the two of them to stay where they were as he began to quietly head off further into the trees. Lex took a small step forward, putting herself between Hannah and the source of the scream. A few moments after the General had disappeared a series of gunshots sounded before everything went silent again.

But then Lex realised something, it was silent, too silent.

A quiet voice in the back of her head yelled out startling her out of her thoughts.

Spinning around on her heel she saw Hannah struggling in a faceless agent’s grip. “Let go of her!” Lex growled sprinting forward and slamming her elbow into the shoulder of the man. Hannah dropped to the ground and let out a small sob. The agent stumbled back a few steps before sliding into a solid stance, even though she couldn’t see his face Lex could practically see the glare.

She ran forward again stomping on the man’s foot and landing a heavy punch in his gut. The man let out a small grunt and managed to land a blow onto Lex’s jaw which forced her back a few paces. The soldier darted forward and slammed his fist into her shoulder.

Lex and the man continued to pass blows back and forth for what felt like hours. Lex stumbled back out of breath and every bone of her body aching. The man didn’t look much better as a small trail of blood leaked out from underneath his helmet and stained a trail down his neck. She ran up to the man aiming to hand another kick on him, but he managed to catch her leg.

The next thing she knew she was on the ground staring up into the broken visor of the agent. She scraped against his shoulders and chest trying to push him off. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw something gleam as he flicked a knife out. In a split-second decision, she managed to knee him in the stomach. Throwing him off of her and jumping to her feet Lex snarled at the man who was a few meters away from her the knife still in hand. Lex ran forward and slammed the baseball bat in her hand against his head, knocking him to the ground.

Lex paused for a moment.

The baseball bat in her hand was spattered with the man’s blood.

“What the fuck?” Lex quietly whispered staring between the body of the man and the bat over and over again. “What the fuck?” she repeated louder taking a step back from the scene and dropping the bat on the ground. The bushes behind her rustled and Lex spun around instantly, ready for a fight. But it was just the General.

“What happened?” he asked glancing around at the scene.”

“Lexie summoned,” Hannah spoke up very quietly from her spot in the middle of the clearing.

The General glanced at Lex for a moment and the baseball bat still lying on the ground. “Are you two okay?” his voice was soft and kind, which startled Lex for a moment. But of course, it was like this, he wasn’t the Colonel.

I would imagine that peip is watching hatchetfield a lot because... it's hatchetfield. And Lex does sometimes accidentally find some small things (eg. the ukulele I headcanon as sort of a gift from webby that Lex just kinda unknowingly pulled it into the world), but because her powers sort of rip small holes and repair them there is a bunch of spikes on peip's censors.

Peip has been watching them for years and has slowly been figuring out who they might be. They have quite a few undercover agents, one of which is Doug, and because Lex spends a little bit too much time in the back of a police car she ends up talking with Doug because Doug is kinda the only one who actually listens to Lex.

But Lex mentions webby and the finding ukulele out of nowhere and Doug reports this back to peip about it. And peip eventually figures out it is the girls, but then Hannah starts to notice peip.

And Hannah tells Lex that they are being watched, and Lex kinda panics and calls Ethan and tells him that they gotta go now. (They were saving up for California, but Lex wants them to leave now.)

But as Lex and Hannah sneak out they are captured by peip. Ethan waited for them for weeks, he's still waiting for them. Also, Hannah knew a bit about her sister's powers, but Lex had no clue about either of their powers.

So I'll start off with Hannah since her experiments are the ones I have more defined in my mind. Hannah's communication with the B&W tends to be stronger when she is in isolation, so a lot of the time she is forced into padded rooms to try and see if they can get a message from anyone.

The padded room has cameras & microphones everywhere since they don't want to have a mirror/glass thing setup (I forgot the name) and it doesn't even have a light in it so she is in pitch blackness and pure silence to see if any messages (either auditory or visual) will come through.

She is kept away from her sister and everyone asides from meals or when they are asking her about any messages. She only really gets to see her sister about one or two hours a day.

Then for Lex, these experiments are less detailed in my mind, but she is allowed to keep a small few items that are important to her or Hannah. (e.g. Ethan's other glove, Hannah's ukulele, etc.)

Every now and then these items are stolen from her and thrown into the B&W and she of course has to try and get them back by reaching into the black and white.

She has more interaction with the staff, but they are told not to interact with her. And she relishes any time she gets to spend with Hannah.

But since Lex has a very quick temper when it comes to her sister often tries to get into fights with the agents and often gets sedated when she is too rowdy. When she does get into fights she gets punished by taking her time with Hannah which just makes her worse.

But there are a few agents who do respond to her and they often get into loud shouting arguments and even sometimes act physically aggressive towards her, but they never actually hurt her.

I headcanon Lex to have some form of PTSD from her mother and her taking on all the punishments so her sister is safe, so when she thinks one of the agents is going to physically hurt her it triggers her deeply. But they still do it, purposefully triggering her because her powers work better in high-stress situations.

So both of the girls are constantly on edge and mentally destroyed and almost willing to do whatever they have to just to be able to see each other. One of the only spots of light is the two agents who are actually compassionate and kind to them- Xander Lee and John MacNamara.

Okay, gonna start out with the corrupt!peip au because it is the first one I want to talk about rn. (If you want to go straight to Caleb James, there is a marker for where that begins.)

So in the beginning, it is just John, Hannah, and Lex on the run together. At first, Lex really doesn't like John because she is a rebellious teenager and he works for the people who have just been psychologically tormenting her. But Hannah trusts him immediately (also helps that Webby tells her to trust him as well) and eventually Lex starts warming up to him.

During their time together on the run Lex and John form this weird snarky sarcastic father-daughter relationship where like 80% of what they say to each other is sarcasm, but Lex still doesn't fully trust him. Then at one point, they are staying in this small town under fake aliases and on the spot, Lex comes up with a lie that she and Hannah are John's daughters.

Hannah and John also bond a lot because they both have ASD and also John is really good at helping her out when she is having a panic attack. They don't spend a lot of the story directly interacting mainly because Lex is protective and she doesn't trust John at the start, but eventually they spend some time together and he kinda unofficially adopts him.

Then eventually Ethan turns up! Yay! John almost instantly adopts him as his son, and they bond a lot early on over their mutual love of mechanics and working with their hands. I don't have much of a plan for when Ethan arrives. But he probably arrives kinda wounded ('cause running from the government is dangerous) and John helps patch him up which instantly wins a bunch of approval from Lex. (Especially because they had gotten into an argument shortly before Ethan shows up.)

Then after a while (like a solid couple of months for the characters), we finally have the return of Xander! John is overjoyed to see him again and they have a very sweet reunion which is kinda interrupted by peip soldiers trying to kill them... again...

Xander is not really a person who gets along with kids much (social anxiety!Xander my beloved), but he eventually befriends them. Plus, him and Ethan bond over both of them having to go on month-long searches for the people they love.

Also, Xander and Hannah bond over art, because I feel like that, would be adorable and I am a big fan of artist!Xander as well.

So yeah, that is what I have planned for our chaotic weird found family who are on the run from the government.

Now onto my personal original story:

Caleb James

"My name is Caleb James, I'm seventeen years old, and last week- I died."

I don't quite remember where this opening sentence came to me, but as soon as it did I was immediately hooked to this story that didn't even exist.

This is a story about a teenager who lived in a small town in a small family with a boring life. I mean sure there was always legends of ghosts and ghouls, but what small town doesn't?

His family wasn't anything strange, his dad was the local town pastor, his mum is a stay-at-home mum who sells pyramid schemes to her neighbours and friends, his older sister is a rebellious stoner, his younger brother is the golden child with his entire life planned out ahead of him.

But Caleb's just Caleb. He's the middle child, no expectations, no worries, no controversies, he is a boring kid with nothing important going on.

And then he died, he doesn't quite know how he did, but he's dead and buried. But his soul isn't in heaven or hell- it is in the wheatfields.

A week after he died he woke up in his childhood home all alone, the power still works, but there is no signal or internet and the tv is nothing but static. But there is something strange when he goes outside, his house isn't on the street he's been on for his entire life.

His house is in the middle of endless wheatfields.

He tried going through the wheatfields and it took him all day, but he ended right back up at his house. As if the world was looping on itself with the endless fields.

The story covers him trying to find out where he is, what happened to him, and what the creature in the wheatfields is. It follows both his afterlife in the Wheatfields and his life back when he was alive.
