corazon's thematic of falling into the dangerous siren stereotype is derived from the monstrous ' tiktik ' mythology, a monster capable of a cruel auditory trick which throws its voice. the further away it is from its victim, the louder it sounds, but the quieter it is, the closer the monster actually is. while cor is primarily a manananggal, i've still decided to mesh her with a few other aswangs for my personal enjoyment.

before cor was turned into a manananggal she had a three octave vocal range while being able to sustain a few notes in the lower and higher registers, but after becoming a mananggal the physical transformation involving that which is required to throw her voice altered her register and expanded it to a full five octave range, being able to sustain notes below and above it with little strain. she's also capable of some terrifying mimicry because of it, as being a shifter allows her to alter the way her vocal chords snap together at will.

cor was a well known performer prior to her death, and though dancing, singing, and acting were some of her greatest passions, these were often commodified by her restrictive mayor father, and used for political gain from parties and galas during the spanish colonial period in the visayas. she did make sure to haunt everyone that wronged her and everyone connected to them post her transformation by dancing and singing in town squares during the witching hour, wearing the tatters of the dress she was murdered in.
