Well you have to tell us about this week's and last week's yaoi, how toxic and tragic is it?
last weeks yaoi is wilson (left) and maxwell (right) from dont starve, a multiplayer survival game notorious for not going easy on its players in the slightest x3
maxwell is basically the captive god of the world wilson (and the other player characters) are trapped in (called the constant), until hes freed from the nightmare throne and joins the survivor group as an equal. wilson, a wannabe scientist whose intelligence only really shines after hes stuck in the constant (a place where nothing works as it should, mind you), was the first person maxwell trapped after he took advantage of wilsons lust for knowledge to trick him into building a portal to the constant, and its likely that said portal became the gateway maxwell needed to be able to kidnap others, including his own niece, but thats another story.
because the game is multiplayer, both characters are playable, and a key feature of the game is inspecting items and entities to either figure out what they do or get a better idea of who your character is, they have really funny banter, including wilson saying maxwell is “shorter in person” when looking at a statue of him and maxwell wanting to hit wilson with a snowball LMAOOOO
they have mountains of potential, be it fucked up toxic god x “heretic” or enemies to relatively healthy lovers, and i love the range uwu
this weeks yaoi is fucking stickmen of all things but anyones whis seen the games gets it, its reginald copperbottom (left) and henry stickmin (right) from the henry stickmin collection, an old choose-your-own-adventure flash game series that was remastered a few years ago and given an official finale :3
reginald is a spineless coward running the toppat clan, a very dapper criminal organization with an awesome airship, and henry is an independent big shot thief who gets scooped up by the us government and basically told “get us concrete evidence on the toppats crimes and well forget about all the shit you did”. henry has the option of stealing evidence, holding reginald hostage, or abandoning the government entirely and stealing a huge ruby from the airship vault (and causing a huge shootout in the process but thats another story). when henry holds reggie hostage (first picture), reg tries to appeal to him by surrendering his position as toppat clan leader, and if henry folds and betrays the government, he gets that black hat reggie is wearing in the first shot, along with that shiny gold chain and the title of toppat chief >:3
canonically, reggie is afraid of henry at best and actively tries to kill him out of resentment at worst, at least until the last game ends one way or another. theres an ending where they kill each other (the only ending where henry canonically dies), an ending where henry joins the toppats as a recruit instead of a leader (after stealing that ruby from earlier), an ending where reggie stages a coup to punish henry for betraying someone who helped him break out of prison, a few endings where government worker or self-interested criminal henry takes down reginald and the toppat clan as a whole (including a few where he kills the entire clan and one where he basically kidnaps them all and lowkey brainwashes them into working for him???), and two endings where reggie realizes “hey the clan is actually in great hands with henry as our leader” and comes to respect him, even saving his life in one of those <3
much like maxwil they have FANTASTIC range, with both the toxic and healthy side of things being absolutely wonderful >:3
and of course i have to humble brag a little bit that the ship name for these two, coppermin, was coined by an asker on my old blog that got terminated some years ago after i made my beloved toppat masquerade au, which got fairly popular and that i was able to publicly develop further than usual with a few other users lovely ideas! i believe thats where the ship really got its start, and you can still easily find some absolutely wonderful fanart and one jawdropping fanfic for it <3333
