Diverse, busy river traffic is well engraved upon The Thames, denoting its prime importance to the city, a fact backed up by a vignette of The Customs House. To the title’s right is a key giving the German translation of English terms used upon the plan. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The name Londīnium is thought to be pre-Roman (and possibly pre-Celtic) in origin, but there is no consensus on what it means. ...
